Slide gets extremely hot
We bought 2 play centres And when it is 70Foutside at 9:30 am the slides were not usable. The surface temputure on the slide read 129F. That is boiling water. When I phoned, the response was ...do not use ! Duh. The slides should not be in the sun...where outside would you put slides? The photo on websites are outside pictures. Why would slides get that hot?
The risk of thermal burns is present with any surface exposed to the sun. There are things our customers can do to minimize this risk. We urge customers to consider the warnings in your owner’s manual. In addition, the Consumer Product Safety Commission Fact Sheet at the following link may prove to be educational about these risks: https://www.cpsc.gov/s3fs-public/3200.pdf.
RUST
We bought this set last March 2021, it is now rusted. The swing chains, and several parts of the frame are heavily rusted despite using rust protection treatment several times a year in the last 2 years that we own it. We are very much disappointed as we love this set and we thought that it would withstand the weather especially with the amount of care that we put to it.
We're so sorry that's happening. Please reach out to us directly at reviews@lifetime.com with photos of your playset so that we can look into this further for you.
Lots of fun in a small Playset
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our playset is about 8 years old now and it is still pretty solid. We have a few rust spots on the deck ends and the climbing wall support pole, but that can be sanded and repainted. The steering wheel and cargo net are now gone, but I have ordered new ones. Everything else is in great condition. The swings have survived, no cracking or chain problems. About assembly... Definitely a two person job. If you have an allen head for your drill or driver then assembly will fly. If not, then good luck and plan on taking your time. The instructions are pretty straight forward and easy to read.
Some tips on assembling this
As a fairly advanced DIYer I expected to put this together in no time at all, but I was mistaken - it's a pretty big project and will probably take 10-20 hours depending on your experience level. After building this I have some tips that may help: * Several parts look extremely similar but have slight differences, and it's not obvious which part is which (they're not labeled). The instructions include a Parts Identifier that makes it easier to distinguish each part, but for some reason that section is in the middle of the instructions after section 3. I wish Lifetime would just label the parts with their part numbers, but since they don't you should use the Parts Identifier to make sure you don't get the parts mixed up. * Use the BILT app, which gives 3D versions of each step. There were a few steps in the instructions that were not completely clear to me, but every time this happened the BILT app helped me figure out what to do. * The barrel nuts (part BTS) and their matching bolts are extremely prone to cross-threading. If you start putting these together and notice a lot of resistance, take the bolt out and start over. If you try to force it you can shear off the bolt inside the nut, and then you'll have to wait for spare parts before you can finish putting it together. Fortunately Lifetime customer service is great and shipped out the replacement parts to me at no cost, no questions asked. * There are several sections where you have to use self-drilling screws to make holes in metal. The instructions tell you to just do this with a screwdriver, which I guess is technically possible but it will take forever. I would highly recommend using a center punch and hammer to get this started, then a small drill bit (I used 1/8-inch) to make a pilot hole. Once you do that the self-drilling screws will go in MUCH more easily. * If you think you can do this alone you're mistaken. Several sections can be done alone, but unless you have four arms you absolutely need a helper for some of the other sections. * A ratcheting socket wrench will make your life a lot easier. A deep socket (not regular socket) that's 1/2-inch makes it much easier to attach the steering wheel. * There were a couple of sections where I found a right-angle drill adapter to be very helpful. I'm pretty sure you could get by without one, but it will make things easier. Overall I have no major complaints about this playset, I just wish that all of the parts would be labeled with their part numbers. Delivery was easy, assembly was time-consuming but not overly challenging, and my kids love it.

Great products
I’ve had this play set nearly 20 years and other than the red roof fading it is as functional as the day I brought it home. I also purchased a trampoline, round picnic table, airplane and basketball standard to fill the grandkids play area, all from Lifetime Products. Great products and they will probably last for my lifetime!
Ok
Not easy to set up. Patience, Patience, Patience. And HELP!!! It came missing the correct model set up instructions and a few pieces. Took the co. almost two weeks to ship replacements. For over $1600, you would think the binoculars would be more than just "regular" plastic. No magnifying glass involved.
I apologize for the difficulties you had while assembling the product. We have experts available to answer any assembly question you may have. You can contact them by phone at 1-800-225-3865, or by email at customercare@lifetime.com. They are open weekdays from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm mountain standard time and Saturdays 9:00 am to 1:00 pm mountain standard time.
Built to last
I purchased this playset for the 2 boys last year. Let me tell you... it is built like a brick "you know what house". Everything is steel construction and can take some serious abuse (even from lawnmower hits) and show very little for it. Lots to do to keep the kids busy and strong enough for my wife to swing as well. And even better no slivers! My only complaint is the fasteners are a bit soft... so be careful if you pull something apart to move the playset. The fasteners can strip if not careful. Other than that this unit is great and will be around long after I am. I would definitely recommend.
We LOVE this set!
We are absolutely thrilled about this Swing Set! When we moved into our home 8 years ago, it came with a wooden Swing Set that was barely usable. As the years went on, it became more rickety and was just in shambles to the point where it was no longer safe to play on. We have every confidence that this Lifetime Swing Set will be in our family for years to come! It is so durable and stable and just the right size. We have 6 kids ranging from 3 to 17 and surprisingly, every single one of them (even the teenagers) have enjoyed this playset so far! It’s been so fun to see our older kids playing with the younger ones outside. The instructions for the assembly of this set were very straight forward and easy to read. It took 2 people about 2 days to put it together. The tools they provided were sufficient and worked well. The only tool required outside of what they provided was a drill. It is super sturdy and I love that you don’t have to cement it in! The swings are comfortable to sit in, even for an adult. I don’t know about you, but the swings at the parks usually squeeze my hips and are super uncomfortable. These are the opposite! We love everything about this set! Lifetime really put a lot of thought into it. My favorite part is the Propellar Swing hanging underneath the playhouse because I can sit comfortably in the shade on that swing while my kids play! I LOVE the earth tone colors of this set! It blends beautifully in our backyard. We finished ours off with rubber mulch that was also brown & green and it just looks great! This Swing Set is the perfect size for our yard & family. It’s been so nice to send the kids out to the backyard and see them all climbing, swinging, and playing while enjoying each other’s company. I know that sounds too good to be true LOL but I’m serious! Thank you Lifetime for creating quality products that will be part of our children’s childhoods and make memories to last a lifetime!
