I have an RV 795 gps for our motor home but needed something for our tow car. The small gps is similar to the rv gps so I was able to put all our Destinations in it, in a matter of minutes. Now we can find our way back to camp after a day of exploring.

The screen is clear and bright but a wee bit small compared to the 5.5" units I also have, but quite workable, and is especially useful in applications with limited dash space or when trying to minimize forward view interference. It would be especially great if it would allow portrait mode, but currently does not.

I used a TOM Tom for 15 years with lifetime updates. I guess I am Dead becuase they stopped with the updates. So I bought this little work Horse. It does everthing I need and does not get in the way of my view. I did buy another one with traffic. Not so sure about the traffic. I still have not see it engage. It is Drive 53 with Traffic. I am very happy with both units

Had it a couple of weeks, satisfied - not. Giving myself more time but, not happy at the moment. Was using it and it quit - sorta. The light leven went down to not readable, stayed that was for an hour or so and then suddenly, full bright. Worked for a couple of days, repeat, has done it a couple of times, working now but? Other menu items that I am not happy with, maybe learning curve?? Last, I will be getting one with a 7" screen, just hard to see. I had the 53 and I was OK with it until.... it quit. I like Garmin and want to stay with it, I'll see how things work out with the 7" when I get to it,

I raelly like this unit, with one exception the speaker could be better, I have two others the 52 and 1040 that sound clear and crisp the 53 sounds a bit raspy compared to the others. But as i stated in the beginning i do like the 53 in all other aspects. hope this helps.

I had my old Garmin GPS for over 7 years, so when it would no longer take a charge or download new maps, I looked for a newer model. Really like the 53 with one (minor) complaint - I loved the old one with English accent but could not find it on the 53 - so sad. 53 picks up the satellite really fast and instantly knows where I am located.

I've had this for about a month and am very pleased so far. I wanted an economical way to always have navigation without depending on my mobile phone and data plan. The unit is compact, making placement easy. It was easy to update,using my home computer. It works well.

Have had my unit about a month. I wish I could return. The maps are great. The volume even adjusted to max is not loud enough. There is no way to a separate speaker and no Bluetooth connection. My bad? Maybe , I thought I had trusted an heirloom quality company

I have been using a Drive 52 for the past few years. It finally dies and needed a replacement. Although I haven't used this enough to learn all of the features, I am disappointed that they eliminated some of my favorite features that I had on the Drive 52. Maybe I'll think better of it after some use.

I have the volume turned up to maximum and that's fine around town. But go out on the interstate with 3 lanes of traffic moving at high speed and I cannot hear the audio navigation above all the noise from the trucks etc. It's not a personal hearing problem at all, my hearing is great! Can anything be done to increase the audio volume?
