We have used the Garmin for years and loved it. When it finally stopped working we resorted to using our cell phones. But there were placed the phone quit...so....we went back to our old friend, the Garmin, and love every time we go anywhere. Its dependability and convenience is great!

I've always used Garmin GPS devices for my cars and my camper van. I've been able to depend on them. A lot of my travels are in the mountains and/or backroads where cell service is not dependable. Having a satellite system means I'll have my directions without having to worry about being in the boonies. I bought the Garmin Drive 53 as a replacement for my old dependable Nuvi. I liked the Nuvi, but I liked that the Drive 53 had more features displayable on the monitor than my old Nuvi. It was over ten years old and still working...but again the Drive 53 offered more and the price was incredibly reasonable. I was very pleased with how easy it was to transfer all my saved locations from the Nuvi to the Drive 53. I didn't miss a beat.

Works well most of the time but every now and then it gives me wrong directions even after I update and reset GPS. Most of the time it does well but I'd be afraid to use it out of state because it does navigate you in the wrong direction sometimes.

I do not need to use GPS frequently anymore so I bought the more economical version. Find out that a laptop or desktop is needed to download and update. Too bad I do not own either. After calling Garmin I was advised to use the laptop or desktop of a friend or relative. REALLY!! Otherwise, I am happy with the device. I have used Garmin for many years and found it to be, for the most part, very reliable.

This GPS does not have voice capable commands and programming route is not as easy as advertised. It functions as a nice basic GPS, but live traffic delays and other features are either complicated or non existent.

The old Garmin was easier to use and you could download other voices and cars to use. The newer GPS has lost the personalization aspect that made me want to use Garmin.

This unit does not work very well. The screen is not clear and it won’t allow any changes. This unit will not follow the most direct route, rather it chooses to go out of the way. It always take the longest route. I am very dissatisfied with this unit.

Does not save home address or any other travel place to ease the klick to saved places. Does not allow to mark police in area or auto on side of road, school zone. Map does not show next exist sign.

It insists on trying to take you on routes that you don’t want to go. I took it to the U.K. with U.K. maps loaded and it kept trying to says the fastest way was going through Landon’s congested charge zone instead of taking the ring Motorway around London.

its to small I wanted a 7" screen, not a refurbished, can't hear hard to see. i want to exchange for a real 7" screen. have the box and receipt, and I took out the insurance on it.
