Customer reviews for LG 7.3 cu. ft. Gas Dryer with Sensor Dry forGreat dryer
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this a couple of weeks ago . It’s very efficient and clothes are dry at end of cycle ! The door opens to the side and towards bottom . I expected it to open completely toward bottom but it’s less than half way open . I am not sure how beneficial that is to me .Still new so maybe I will find its purpose .
Not user friendly
Do not recommend. I loved my previous LG set. I was able to select a mode, then customize the options to fit my needs. The only options available are what are preset and most are med/high heat settings. I have a lot of office work attire and baby clothes that all need low settings and this is just not an option unless you choose quick dry, but then you lose the sensing option and you can only time dry.
Hey Jay. It sounds like your new dryer isn't offering the customization you're used to, and it's definitely challenging when you can't select the lower heat settings needed for delicate items like office wear and baby clothes. We understand how important it is to have precise control over your drying cycles. Many of our newer models, while having optimized preset cycles, can often be customized further. You might find additional cycle options or ways to fine-tune settings through the LG ThinQ app's download cycles. This could provide the flexibility you're looking for: https://www.lg.com/us/support/help-library/lg-thinq-how-to-use-download-cycles--20152746918577 To help explore more options, please send us a private message on social media @LGUSSupport with your dryer's model number and purchase date. TOTALLY AWESOME
I am very happy with both my LG washer and LG dryer! The clothes have never come out better in cleanliness and after dryer results--I've used most of the settings, from AI to specific and they've all been terrific--hopefully these will last me a lifetime--I'm VERY HAPPY with them!
Great features!
We bought an LG washer and dryer in 2023 and in 2024 decided to sell our house. The buyers wanted both items as they knew they were new with warranties on them. So, we had to buy replacements. We bought new AI washer and dryer set in 2024. We love the AI feature where we can just set it and the computer figures out how to wash or dry the clothes. Also, love the scheduling features too.
Hi Darren, thank you for taking a moment to share your experience. It’s great to hear that your LG 7.3 cu ft Ultra Large Capacity Rear Control Gas Dryer with EasyLoad Door and AI Sensing model DLG8401WE has been such a smooth upgrade. Moving from one LG set to another says a lot, and it’s good to know the AI features and scheduling options are making laundry easier in your new home. Having the dryer automatically adjust for each load is a real convenience, and it’s great that it fits your routine so well. does not dry!!!
Consumer Reports recommended this dryer, however, my clothes have not once dried, remaining damp when the damp cycle is at 0. Also, the controls are in black against black and are hard to read. This might be a dud washer or the operator is not cognizant on how to use this dryer. It would be nice to know how to operate this dryer so I don’t have to replace it.

Feature rich but door dud
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall, I like the dryer from the standpoint of being able to open it from top/down to move items from washer to the dryer more easily. However, I do not like the fact that the door when opened from the side will NOT stay open. You need to use your leg or other body part to hold the door open to remove clothes. As far as the features and drying ability, no issues.

Good Dryer, can't see the control panel too dim.
Control Panel is so dim that I am having to make labels so that we know what cycle to choose from. I've bought new lighting, turned off the lighting in the room; nothing helped it's just too dim. Dries very well but we cannot figure out what setting to put it on if we can't see the control panel. I would send back the washer and drier if they had a control panel that was printed.
Hey there! We're here to ensure your LG dryer provides excellent performance with clear controls. We understand your dryer dries very well, but you're finding the control panel too dim, making cycle selection difficult. We truly want to help resolve this. Bad touch controls
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Really bad touch control panel. No one cautioned me about it and let me know there was a similar model with normal buttons. I have to push the start button 15 to 20 times to run the dryer. Called service who witnessed how many times I had to push the button. Said it was working as designed and told me about the other model. Too late for me to swap. I'm annoyed every time I use the dryer. The dryer door is great.
Hey there Mep! Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review on your dryer! Your feedback means the world to us, and we’re committed to making your experience as amazing as possible. If you’re finding that you need to press the start button a couple of times before it works, don’t worry—we’re here to help! Here are a few simple steps you can try: first, unplug the dryer to disconnect it from the power source. Next, while it’s unplugged, press and hold the [POWER/START] button for 5 seconds, then hold the [PLAY/PAUSE] button for another 5 seconds. After that, plug it back in and see if the issue is resolved. Additionally, check for dirt or debris around the start button and give it a gentle clean if needed. Lastly, inspect the door switch, as it might be causing issues with starting the dryer. If these tips don’t do the trick, we’ve got your back! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using my LG top load washer and dryer for a while now. Im going on 60 days and I'm really happy with them! Here's why I think they're a great choice: Dryer: Easy-to-Clean Lint Trap: The lint container is super easy to access and clean. I love that I can get it 100% lint-free, which is great for keeping the dryer running efficiently and preventing fires. Even the slot where the container goes is a breeze to clean! Fast Drying Time: My clothes are always dry in under an hour, which is a huge time saver. Automatic Shut-Off: This is a fantastic feature! The dryer senses when the clothes are dry and shuts off automatically. Not only does this save energy, but it also gives me peace of mind knowing it won't overheat or potentially cause a fire. Washer: Large Capacity: I can easily wash my king-size comforter in this washer, which is a big plus. Efficient Soap Dispenser: I like how the washer sprays all the detergent from the dispenser directly onto the clothes, ensuring they get thoroughly cleaned. Quiet Operation: It's not a noisy machine, which is a nice change from my old washer. Versatile Wash Options: I can choose a deep wash for heavily soiled items or a water-saving wash for smaller loads, which is great for conserving water. Overall: I'm really impressed with the performance and features of my LG washer and dryer. They've made laundry day much easier and more efficient. If you're looking for a reliable and feature-rich laundry set, I highly recommend checking out LG Top Load DLE8400BE!
