I bought this last year when Michigan was out of power; yes, practically the entire state was out because of a massive ice storm. I was without power for 3 days, called the Genarac dealer and they installed the next day. There was a small problem, they installed the wrong size generator (18KW instead of the 22) but, because it was an emergency, they installed, but didn't bury the lines and set in the ground. They came back after the ice storm and replaced and reset. It runs for 5 minutes every Saturday. Good thing, a year later, another ice storm. Power went out and I didn't even know it. I woke up to everything running, including my robot vacuum. Wasn't till about 1/2 hour later that I realized the generator was running. My only complaint, after about 24 hours, I could smell gas (propane) in my house. I didn't know if it was just the fumes from the generator or if I had a gas leak from ice. But once the generator shut off, the smell went away. So, I guess it was just fumes.

We've all been there. Lights out and no idea when it will be restored. With our increased dependence on reliable energy loss of power is serious. The night our Generac was installed I told my wife I had never had the feeling of complete peace of mind after purchasing a product or service like that I experienced after our Generac was installed. The 22 kw generator is economically priced and is very easy to activate and setup. The wiring schematics are very easy to follow and installation is a breeze with the 200 amp service duty rated transfer switch. The transfer switch provides load shed capabilities to deenergize heat pump electric heat and other major loads when the electrical demand is high to prevent overloading of generator It's a good investment and a wise choice for standby electrical needs when your normal utility is off and the great thing is that it's fully automatic.

The price and operations of this generator is great (simple to test). I like it because when the wife needs oxygen no matter if the power is down she still is ok to run the oxygen concentrator. Thanks for a good product. I decided to buy one when our Co. bought one to use at our office.

We purchased this unit because our house is all electric with baseboard heat. It was installed the beginning of May and we had our first power outage the first of June and the unit worked as advertised .It came on in about 2 minutes of the power going off and remained on until the power came back on.

We live in an area that the power goes off quite frequently. So we have already used the generac several times. I love it comes on automatically within minutes, and shuts off when the power comes back on. I wish we would have purchased one earlier. I highly recommend them!

As you see from my ratings, I think very highly of this product. It's even quieter than I expected. I did have one minor matter that I had to deal with, and I called your toll-free number and worked with Josh, who was great in performance of his job. I gave a score of "good" for value for the price, and that was only because I'm not well versed in whole house generators. I expect that as time goes on, I'll be changing my tune to excellent after this generator saves me many bucks in future power outages.

I am quite pleased with the generator, although we haven't had to really use it ,it is nice knowing that it is there ready for us. My wife had not heard it run yet so I informed her that on Mondays it runs a self diagnostic test, so she she grabed a lawn chair and sat outside to hear it run when it started her first comment was that she had expected it to be a lot louder than it was.
