We live in an area where powers goes off each time the wind picks up above 5 mph ... well, almost. Six months ago we decided to install a 22KW standby Generac generator with transfer switch with Generac Mobile Link. Apart from a small issue at start due to a defective air filter (which would make the generator choke under certain conditions) which was rapidly identified and solved, we are most happy with our new generator. It kicks in as soon as we loose power, and within 20 second or so our power is restored and very stable whatever was on at the time (ovens, electric range, AC, etc). The mobile link allows us to check the status of our generator even when we are away from home and provides additional security. Finally we also installed a surge protector for the whole house including the generator. This generator is still quite noisy, but it seems somewhat less than some other generators we hear in our area. It is most important to choose the right contractor to install this generator, especially with the transfer switch and with all the rewiring that may be needed. Ours was stellar, and this was an important part in our positive experience. In short, we are very happy with our purchase, and would buy the same again.

i looked at units from several competitors and generac to decide on a generator for my home. After reviewing the others and talking to the electricians that install these everyday I went with the 22kw Generac. We have had the unit kick in one time because of bad weather that turned the power off all over our area for close to 8 hours, It ran great and did everything we expected, my whole house was able to run flawlessly and we had complete safety and comfort. I would buy again!

I bought a 22kw unit for our remote cabin as a backup to random power outages due to storms. Install went as planned and we tested it several times and the generator picked up the load as planned. Considering buying one for our home. What a great peace of mind!

I have researched many generators. I work in construction, and the reason Generac was one that I really focused on was the quality of the equipment used on site. I don't regret purchasing my unit. It has worked several times without incident. Never have to worry when the power goes out. I live in a country setting and power is interrupted often.

So far our generator has been working as expected and after two winter storms, we are lucky of no main power lost. However it feels good to have our standby guardian on call, just in case. Winter is not over and the worst is yet to come, but we feel very safe.

I love this new 22KW generator. The dealership and installation folks were just fantastic. They set up a time with my propane provider so that they could all be there during the installation. The install of the generator, wiring and propane lines were all done in one mornings time. We decided on a whole home unit that would run the power in our whole house if the electric service went out and we are very very happy with it. The generator is set to come on weekly and will run for about five minutes or so and does a complete check of the system before it turns off. We also decided to go with the Com-Link option which was around $200.00 and it will send you texts or emails with a report of the weekly tests along with each time the generator is on or the power goes out, a great option for our peace of mind while away from home. There is also an app that you can refer to that tells you the condition of the battery, times the test runs occurred along with Minutes/hours of run times and when the next maintenance is due. Your Generac dealer can also pull up all this information and line out a time with you for upcoming maintenance. As I've said before, I LOVE THIS NEW ADDITION to our family :)

So far so good. Have experienced two power outages and it started in about ten seconds. Goes through it's weekly test run with no problems. I do however set it on manual and run for atleast thirty minutes to burn off any condensation that has accumulated. I recommend Generac make the transmitter device standard on the stationary units.

I can only respond to the monthly start-ups and the comfort of having it in place for outages. I have not needed for any amount of time yet and can only hope it stands up to its first test under fire ;) The remote access / smart phone option should be standard equipment...its 2017..someelse will beat you to the punch and steal some of your business, you need to stay on top! I purchased the first unit for our home and a second unit for our cottage, about a month later. The units are performing great, they are currently set to cycle on for 5 minutes once per week. Had one very short power loss at our house and the generator did its job. It started within seconds of the power loss and shut down promptly after the power was restored. I am very satisfied with the design of the unit and the installer did a great job!

The first night at my million dollar cottage on the north shore of a beautiful lake, a thunder store shut down power. The gentle hum [ well, in truth, gentle roar] of the generator, which automatically started up when the power went out, was comforting as I knew the furnace was functioning, as was the refrigerator, and everything else in the cottage. Twelve hours later, regular power came on, and the universe unfolded as it should. I am not always there, but it is wonderful to know that whether I am there or not, electricity is!
