If you’ve been thinking about purchasing a Generac for your home, I would highly recommend it! The first time we lost power, I knew then, that my families comfort was worth every penny that my Generac cost! We still had satellite service and internet! Heat, hot water.......

I used Generac website to find a certified installer and found one in my neighborhood. They came out and done a whole house evaluation to determine my power load and suggested I needed a 22K model 7043 along with a 200 amp smart module for my 2645 sq foot home . I can’t stress enough you should use a certified installer to cover the Generac warranty. I have seen some of the bad reviews due to shabby institutions and they have nothing but problems which are not covered under warranty and the people had to pay to have a certified Generac installer to fix the problem. If they would have done that from the start their wouldn’t been any issues. I used McQuagge Electric Company here in ST. Cloud,Fl and there installation included the 3in hurricane pad, battery, 200 amp automatic transfer switch, along with a 200 amp smart module plus permits. Since I already had Blossman gas bury my 250 gallon propane tank for my spa heater I had Blossman run a line to the generator also. McQuagge Electric Company even checks to make sure the propane line is correctly installed before they even do a test run. They check anything and everything to make sure there are no issues, very professional company. The cost of the generator, hurricane pad, battery, and smart module cost as much as the installation. Which was not cheap but you Get what you pay for . Since the complete installation is not done yet I cannot comment on how good the unit works. I will do that later. I called Generac and received a 7 year warranty since they were running a ad on TV.

We live on a farm and having electric is a necessity to run our well for water for our 40 plus Boer meat goats. As we are aging we were looking for a "hands off" power source to keep us in power. We were using a portable generator. This generator did not run our well to supply water for our goats. So we had to haul water from another water source. It was also labor intensive to continually add fuel. We are now very relieved to know when the "lights go out" the "Generac will go on". We are extremely pleased with our Generac Guardian 22kW generator.

After last winter storm that left us cold and dark for several days we put a generator to the top of our home improvement list. Being old enough to know better we dismissed portable models that would have required frequent fueling and many extension cords. A semi-permanent model with manual start and transfer switch would work but again, as we get older the trips out side and to the basement could be hazardous, particularly in the dark. We decided on a "whole house" automatic model. Generac repeatedly came up as a popular option. Researching products I found they had been in this business for many years and had developed a scalable design with a range of power output. Reliability of a mature design is very good and was a high mark for us. There are several local dealers so service and repair is assured. The generator unit has high quality fit and finish, no tangle of canbles or ill fitting panels. The sound level during self test mode is less than my neighbors lawnmower. Suffice to say we are sleeping easier knowing the lights and heat ( or cool in Summer) will stay on.

Had this installed last week right before Hurricane Irma came thru Florida. Was the only house in neighborhood that had power thru out the entire storm. Had AC, hot water, stove and all lights and outlets working. Even had pool pump running. (All other pools in neighborhood turned black or green) Had neighbors plugging extension cords into our outlets to run Refrigerators and a neighbor running his wife oxygen machine from our house. Best investment we've ever made. All my neighbors now have my installers name and number and i'm sure they will be calling!!!!

The last few years we have experienced more frequent power outages. Having the generac gives us piece of mind that we will be covered for our power needs. DS Groff out of Lewis Run, PA was our dealer/installer. Mr. Groff came to our house and discussed our options. Jethro and Ray were our installers. They did a very neat and professional instal in a matter of a few hours. Everybody from the lady who answers the phone at Groff, Mr. Groff and our installers were great. I would highly recommend !

This is my third Generac Stand by generator and it probably the best. I had it installed just in time for Hurricane Season in Florida. When Irma Hit us we lost power while we where sleeping and the Automatic switch kick in and the generator started flawlessly. It ran for 88 hours smoothly. Its just an amazing product. Highly recommended!!!

Shortly after the generator was installed, the power went out. I was just getting ready to leave for an important engagement, but my car was in the garage. I would not have been able to get out of the garage if not for the generator coming on and restoring power to the garage door opener. The power was out for almost 2 hours.

If the exercise time could be changed from 5 minutes to 12 minutes and the exercise speed be changed from the slow "Quiet Test" to full RPM I would give a rating to 5-stars. Other than these two significant issues, I find Generac to be a quality and reliable, made in the USA, product. It has NEVER failed me. However, because of the inadequate exercise time I feel I must manually run the generator periodically to "cook off" the condensation moisture from the oil. (NO internal combustion engine likes to sit.) The Wi-Fi reception is poor on the generator unit. My iPhone showed full strength Wi-Fi at the generator site. The generator reported zero Wi-Fi signal strength after accepting the Wi-Fi password. I ended up having the 4G LTE cellular option installed, this gave me the needed connectivity. I get an alert on my iPhone whenever the generator exercises, or is running due to a utility failure. All things considered, I would buy the generator again even with the faults mentioned above. It's hard to believe that the lack of flexibility regarding exercise time was truly an engineering decision, I fear it could be government influenced.

A local IASD checked out and started up our new 22kW generator with transfer switch on Tuesday afternoon. Everything worked perfectly including the test of the Automatic transfer. On Friday Afternoon of the same week, we had an abrupt power outage. About 10 sec later the transfer switch operated and picked up the house load. The unit operated perfectly for about an hour. Afterwards, while in the garage adjacent to the generator, I realized I did not hear the hum of the unit. The unit had transferred back to the utility power and shutdown, without me noticing it. Great transfer!! Yes I would recommend this unit!
