I had an electrician install this generator brand new out of the box. It started right up and worked fine, however we couldn't get the Wifi module to work. I called Mobilelink and we couldn't figure it out, so I had to have a service tech come out to trouble shoot. Turns out the wifi module wasn't even plugged in. So we plugged it in, connect to the internet and did a software update that ultimately fried the control unit, so now the generator won't even start. The control unit is now on order and am waiting with a very expensive giant paperweight sitting in my yard. To make matters worse, there is currently a heat wave with rolling power outages and my generator is just sitting there doing nothing except burning a hole in my pocket.

We live in a small town farming community. We have had high winds, fire and snow storms that have disrupted our power. The power company is usually pretty prompt getting service back on. The longest we have been without power in the last couple of years is about 9 hours. My husband is now on fully time oxygen and relies on power to run his concentrator. The generator is a safety net but most of all peace of mind for my husband.

We had Switch Electric, LLC perform the installation. They came highly recommended and I can see why. The installation went flawlessly, their explanation of the system was easy to understand and the product works incredibly well. We typically lose power here in our area at least three to four times per year and were tired of hooking up a manual generator to the house during those windy/rainy times. Thank goodness we now have the peace of mind that it will happen automatically.

Our generator was installed August 6, 2020 but we are waiting on the propane tanks to be installed before start up can occur. There seems to be a shortage of tanks right now. Jason II, Eli and Johnny from Holly Electric did an excellent job with the installation.

I did a lot of research into backup generators, some had a few more bells and whistles so was the cost. From what I found Generac stood above them all. The 18Kw will meet out needs. We went through ESCON Power Solutions, Bay City, MI for the purchase and installation. They went above and beyond to make sure the installation was done correctly (a couple of unplanned challenges were found during the installation). I highly recommend them if you are looking for a Generac dealer.

My full installation was completed today Jul 22nd, and everything functioned properly. The generac system started when the powered was disconnected and was tested twice. I had questions about the WIFI setup and called the support number for help and Jeff, from Generac support, walked me through all the steps and answered all my questions. Great customer support that is friendly and knowledgeable. We now have the peace of mind that when a power outage occurs, even for days, we will have total house power backup.

This 14 KW Generator was installed on 12/8/21 by (3) installers with completion after about 6 hours. The installation looks professionally done. The generators WiFi module was connected to my WiFi and a simulated outage was successfully completed with the generator automatically being energized. The simulated outage was recorded on the Mobil Link 'Status' page. The Mobil Llnk App was showing a 4 - 6% signal strength. Three days after the installation, we had a 40 hr outage due to high wind and the generator performed flawlessly, but the WiFi Mobil Link, not so good. The operation of the generator during the actual outage was not recorded on the Mobil Link status page. I checked the signal strength of several of my devices at the generator site and they all picked up a full signal in comparison to the generator WiFi Module's 4-6% signal. A subsequent call to the installer resulted in my being redirected to the Mobil Link 855 number with a request to pass anything I learned back to the installer for their education. The first call to Mobil Link concluded with a recommendation that I needed one of their recommended WiFi extenders because the generator WiFi Module doesn't work well with dual band WiFi systems such as the GoogleNest mesh system I have. After purchasing and installing a TP Link N300 extender, I upgraded my signal strength from 6% to 20% for the WiFi Module and with a recent update to the Mobil Link app increasing it to 28%. Since this was still well below the 40% signal strength that is recommended in an article at the Mobil Link Tech Support website, I called their Mobil Link 855 number again with my previously opened case number and was told they didn't have any further recommendations to improve the WiFi signal and 28% was probably good enough to avoid disconnects. I think this should have been a turn key installation with the installer assessing what is existing at the proposed installation site, quoting what is required to make the system work as recommended (including the WiFi Module) and then assuring it does so when the installation is completed. I think there needs to be a WiFi antenna external to the generator housing, but apparently Generac doesn't yet.

My new Generac 22KW generator installation is complete, and everything works flawlessly. It has already turned itself on for a scheduled self-test. It is comforting to know that I am no longer subject to the inconvenience and financial consequences of random power outages. Excellent and well-designed product!

We installed a Generac whole home generator. It ended up frying the circuits in the customers home due to a faulty control board. Generac and its dealer never ended up helping and we covered all the costs of repair out of pocket. Would not recommend this product.

we live in a rural area, and several times a year have power outages lasting 1-2 weeks, with one outage lasting 3 weeks! My portable generator was ok, but costs $30.00/day for gas, and I had to get up in the middle of the night to fill it up. Not to mention that if I was not home, my wife was unable to start it up, etc. No more! Within a few seconds of power-loss, everything is back to normal...my well, AC, furnace, everything! Awesome.
