Had a Guardian 24kw generator installed about 1 yr ago by Ambrose Electric. Installation went very smoothly and has a very acceptable appearance. Initial oil change and service check is simple. Everything is easy to get at. We have had two short term power outages since installation and everything works pefectly. Our house is total electric and we have no problem living normally during outages. Well pump, water heater, clothes dryer and electric heat all operate normally although we do take care to limit burner/oven usage on the stove if the electric heat is in use, for example. The Generac handles it all with no strain. My one complaint is with the exercise program. It runs for only five minutes under no load. This causes moisture in the air to condense into the oil. Particularly in the winter. I spent 50 yrs as a Diesel and heavy equipment mechanic. Moisture in oil is never acceptable, despite what Generac claims. Originally set to exercise weekly I changed it to monthly and on those days I trip the main breaker to put the unit under load for 30-60 minutes. Unit is exercised and the oil stays moisture free. All-in-all an excellent unit and it is great not having to get up in the middle of a winter night, or any other time, and go hook up a portable generator.

As usual Generac has a very good if not great product. I installed and did the setup myself. Everything was straight forward except the activation of the unit via wifi and the web. A good option would be a way to input the code on the control panel. I am not inexperienced with computers, internet, or smart phones either.

The GENERAC 24kw backup generator provides home coverage in the case of an outage. Boyland Electric of Laytonsville, MD staff provided excellent service during decision and installation process. The installation, by Boyland Electric, exceeded our expectations as they arrived on time each day and kept the working area clean of debris throughout the installation. The workers, Joe, Jason, Dom and Mike arrived promptly to start the installation of our generator. They were friendly, took all precaution with protecting our house from damage, worked diligently and after completion, Joe took a significant amount of time to go over all the information we needed to know in order to run and maintain our new generator unit. We are very happy with the installation and look forward to the comfort this generator will bring to us in the coming years.

We live in a cold climate and now that we are old it can be dangerous in sub zero weather to be without power. The last storm we were out 5 days which also means no well pump no water. Huge expenditure with the cost of install for old people. I have not been able to get the wi-fi remote monitor to work as I am not tech savvy, do not understand what they are asking for to be able to follow the instructions, nor can I climb thru the snow banks to get at the generator itself.

Didn't expect this unit to be able to run both A/C units plus the rest of the house, but it can as long as they both don't try to start at the same instant. More than I expected. I also like the mobile link as we are away a lot. Good to know the unit has exercised and that if there are any problems, the dealer gets an email and knows a repair is needed.

I am extremely happy and satisfied with the performance and features of the unit. I have a 3600 sq. ft home with 7 tons of A/C. The unit handled everything I could throw at it and didn't miss a beat. However, the unit has a small oil leak at the oil filter mounting base. The installer has changed out the oil filter on 3 occasions thinking it may have been a bad batch of filters. Both he and I think it is most likely an issue with the mounting surface that may be slightly warped as we cannot see any scratches or nicks. We are working with Generac to have this issue resolved and as of yet, it has not. Other than this, I am extremely satisfied and would have put quality as excellent if it were not for this one issue.

The installation and testing of this unit was flawless ... apart from a little hiccup in connecting the wifi, but the technicians soon had that figured out and the wifi tracking/performance monitoring system now works very smoothly. We expect that this unit will deliver all of the reliable service we hope for from it.

This is my second Generac. My first was in the Northeast and was a 20KW, but in Florida I upgraded to the 22KW due to large A/C requirement. The generator is surprisingly quiet. I only know its running because it sends me a text! This is a great feature because even when I travel I now know if my house lost power. I compared price and features to the biggest competitor and the Generac was 20% cheaper both in the Northeast and in Florida. The unit also looks great and my neighbors said they had to go outside after a power outage to know it was running because its so quiet.

We just had it installed, so have not needed it yet. But it does give us confidence with as many power outages as we've had. I lost all my pond fish and my aquarium fish inside the house on the last power outage. As we get older we worry more about power outages, so this seems like a good investment.
