Perfect generator for my house
I used Generac website to find a certified installer and found one in my neighborhood. They came out and done a whole house evaluation to determine my power load and suggested I needed a 22K model 7043 along with a 200 amp smart module for my 2645 sq foot home . I can’t stress enough you should use a certified installer to cover the Generac warranty. I have seen some of the bad reviews due to shabby institutions and they have nothing but problems which are not covered under warranty and the people had to pay to have a certified Generac installer to fix the problem. If they would have done that from the start their wouldn’t been any issues. I used McQuagge Electric Company here in ST. Cloud,Fl and there installation included the 3in hurricane pad, battery, 200 amp automatic transfer switch, along with a 200 amp smart module plus permits. Since I already had Blossman gas bury my 250 gallon propane tank for my spa heater I had Blossman run a line to the generator also. McQuagge Electric Company even checks to make sure the propane line is correctly installed before they even do a test run. They check anything and everything to make sure there are no issues, very professional company. The cost of the generator, hurricane pad, battery, and smart module cost as much as the installation. Which was not cheap but you Get what you pay for . Since the complete installation is not done yet I cannot comment on how good the unit works. I will do that later. I called Generac and received a 7 year warranty since they were running a ad on TV.
This is a great product.
We purchased the 22KW Guardian whole house generator. We are very pleased with it's performance. We have had it for about a week and already the electricity went off last night and the generator worked perfectly. Never Dark Carolinas installed our generator and propane tank and we were so pleased with their work ethic and professionalism. We highly recommend them.
So glad we have it
We've only had the generator for a couple of months and we already needed it once. We had a power outage in our neighborhood and within seconds the generator started up. Works great so far and we are very relieved we won't be without power during an outage. We ordered it through Esposito's Generator Solutions in Denville, NJ and the entire process from ordering to install was very smooth. They have great customer service and always respond quickly to any calls or emails. Highly recommend.
Fantastic Peace of Mind for Uninterruptible Life.
Installed January 2021 (almost 4-years ago) and already have 231+ run hours since. We have this paired with the 200-amp automatic transfer switch. We also have PWRView installed which has helped us monitor and track down our power hungry forgotten gremlins. Where we live, we have frequent power outages, sometimes for weeks. Generac 24kw model 7210 is peace of mind. We actually are in the middle of a giant widespread power outage in the Greater Seattle Area right now (power outage started November 19, 2024). Thanks to Generac, we have 100% of all our electric conveniences without interruption. Paired with Starlink Internet, we have an Uninterruptible Life plus Full Connectivity. We have the Guardian 24kw exercise weekly for 15-minutes (12-hrs runtime annually as proactive exercise). Weekly exercise ensures the oil keeps the engine lubricated. I changed oil at 50-hrs and again at 200-hrs. I keep extra filters + oil in-stock so I can maintain during a prolonged outage. More than enough power to operate our entire extra large home AND charge my electric car with ease. With 4,000 sq ft and 2 kitchens - we can run everything without worry about rationing: 6+ refrigerator/freezers, 2-pumps for septic, electric heat, multiple large 80"+ plus sound system throughout, jacuzzi tub, plus 3 large portable a/c units in the summer. The Guardian doesn't ever hiccup. Our day time idle power draw is 2kw and overnight it's about 650-watts, which means the generator idles most of the time at <10% power draw. Thanks to the Guardian with advanced fuel management, we burn less than 1/2-gallon/hour of propane or less. Economies of Scale, by sizing up our generator large enough to operate everything on-demand we also benefit from the improved fuel-efficiency-per-watt of larger generators. We buried a 1k gallon propane tank so we never run out of propane during a power outage. This provides us about 90-days of generator fuel supply. We have a second 1k gallon propane tank to ensure we have plenty of furnace heat + hot water. Our typical annual fuel consumption is about 1k gallons. During one particularly bad snow storm, we had 18+ inches of snow and ran out of propane plus no electricity in 15 *F weather. Before the next winter I had this Guardian installed. I swore never again and over-engineered to ensure that. In our area, we have gone as long as 3-weeks without utility power and about 4+ weeks between propane fuel resupply due to deep blizzard snow. I also took the time to re-balance/re-wire the breaker panels when installing this generator. Typical USA homes have two 120v power legs. In our house, 90% of our power consumption was on one leg which meant our generators had to run twice as hard with half the power on the second leg completely wasted. By re-wiring our breakers specifically to re-balance all our electric throughout our large house we were able to improve our efficiency immensely. Our electric load is now evenly balanced which allows our generator to operate even more efficiently. Thanks to the convenience of automatic standby, I have been able to travel for work during inclement weather and the generator powered the whole house without worry. The generator has performed flawlessly while I have been away from home. Zero training required for the family once installed professionally. The Guardian is very quiet, even so I had it installed out by the barn. This means that we often lose power without realizing it because we can't hear the generator inside our house. The Guardian takes about 30-seconds to startup before supplying stable clean power. For those critical circuits (wifi, security system, routers, starlink, computers) I have installed several battery backups to bridge the 30-seconds. Due to our jobs (technology + healthcare), we require 24x7x365 connectivity and utilities. Our Guardian has empowered us to remain connected and impactful while working remote during the worst storms.
HAD NO CHOICE
We were away last winter and had someone check our house every several days. We head a power outage and the electric company forgot to restore our power so we were lucky that the weather was above normat (not freezing). If this had happened a month later we would have had considerable damage. My only negative for Generac is that the propane monitoring system only works in the USA so it is an option we cannot use.
Constant maintenance issues
We have had this back up generator for about five years now. We have had scheduled maintenance done every year by Genstar and every year we have some sort of major problem. For the second time in a year and a half, all the oil has leaked out of the generator. The first time was from a pressure switch that went bad. I have not identified the source of the second leak. We’ve also had to replace the entire control panel and another electronic module. We have a severely brain damaged daughter who relies on electricity to power her ventilator, feeding pump, oxygen maker and pulmonary suction machine. We need something more reliable. We have spent about 40% of the cost of the generator in maintenance and repair repairs already in a relatively short amount of time.
Outstanding whole house generator.
We had the 26kW-7291 Guardian Home Backup Generator with Whole House Switch WiFi-Enabled installed during October 2022 for the primary purpose of having backup power during the occasional storm related, or other unforeseen power outages, that will occur while living life. Also got it for the rare hurricane related power outage that will happen living in the best State in the USA....Florida. On Christmas Eve 2022 at 1830 hours there was a twelve hour power outage! It happen to also be one of those times in Florida when a COLD weather front was moving through the state and the temperatures were in the upper 30's to mid 40's at night. Right at 60 seconds after the power went off the Generator started up and everything in the house was back on. Can you image power going off on Christmas Eve for twelve hours...the food in the over, on the stove and in the microwave and refrigerators, etc, etc. So as far as I'm concerned the generator paid for itself that night. The only issue I had was to reset the microwave and stove clocks...what a pain:). Seriously thou this Generator is great and I highly recommend it. We installed a 500 gallon underground propane tank as fuel source and after doing the math we should be able to run everything in the house as usual for at least 7 days and longer if we did get back power on several accessories.
Peace of Mind
We lost power for 36 hours in August 2020. Thankfully we had some small gas powered generators to take care of the Refrigerators, Sump and Freezer. It was 95 degrees that day and night into next day. Sleep was non-existent. Walking around my development all of my neighbors were dark except for one. He had a Generac stand-by generator. Most of his house was taken care of except his A/C. I started thinking. September 15th 2020 I contracted with a company to provide a whole house unit. I ordered the 22KW unit to power my whole house. There was a run on generators and mine wasn't delivered until mid-January 2021. It was installed the 22nd and turned over to me on the 29th. I hooked up Mobile-Link on the 31st hours before a noreaster/snow event hit Maryland and I slept like a baby.

No more warm beer!
After living in the Cape Fear area of North Carolina and experiencing various hurricane outages up to 10 days, we are glad we decided to install a 22K Guardian. The ability to live somewhat normally after a hurricane is a relief. No more hot, humid days and uncomfortable, dark. boring nights waiting in the heat for service to be restored. No more spoiled food. No more cold water showers. No more looking for sold out ice and supplies. No more warm beer! Did the load test today and no problems. We are ready!
