[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a very nice stand mixer. Previously I had a tilt head, and this bowl-left does take a little getting used to. The power behind it is great. I enjoy the dual size bowls that were included. The smaller size bowl is very handy to have and I find myself using it more often than I thought I would. The gorgeous blue color gives a nice pop of color to my neutral kitchen. All the attachments were very easy to change and clean.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was a replacement for the original that had a shrapnel that fell from the planetary but there’s something wrong with the arm lift on this replacement. It locks half way down so I have to put more pressure to lower it completely. Doing this repeatedly puts pressure on the plastic mechanism in it and eventually it break prematurely. The 3 quart bowl has small dents.

I've used this to help mix my cake batters and frostings with ease. It blends evenly, better than any I've had. The whip attachment makes the fluffiest toppings and cookies I've done in a long time. It is simple to clean and it looks great even if I leave it out- it is very stylish for cookware!

Its to hard too constantly take it off and on when i need to add ingredients. Also I miss having the handle like I had on my old kitchen aid mixer. It does the job, but miss my old kitchen aid.

I do enjoy it for the most part, however when making my sourdough bagels it is unable to keep up with kneading the dough, it bogs downs and overheats and the part that hold the bowl wobbles as the dough hook kneads. Yes I only use it on the low setting no more than two as instructions directed.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve previously owned the tilt version of KitchenAid mixer. I thought this version would give better access to adding ingredients while mixer is running. I would have to give the better rating to the tilt version. It is also quicker to lift mixer than lower the bowl in this mixer. If I’m going to recommend mixers tilt vs.bowl lift, I would give the nod to tilt.

I bought this 5.5 Bowl-Lift (Mineral Water) from Sam’s Club. It sounds great and did great when I made Peanut Butter cookies. I took a chance making the cookies after a sharp metal fragment fell from the planetary when testing it first. Could have been life threatening. The fragment was painted on one side so I thought that it was from around the shaft that wasn’t sanded down before assembly. Manufacture’s error. The fragment was aluminum, broke in half when bent. Also, the 3 quart bowl and the combi-whip doesn’t work together. The whip hits the bowl and I don’t want to keep adjusting the bowl-lift adjustment screw for it because the 5.5 bowl and attachments works fine.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have for years wanted a Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer and finally received this one. I’m so in love with this mixer already. This particular unit came with four beaters (Flat Beater, Spiral Dough Hook, Wire Whip and the 11-wire Stainless Steel Eliptical Beater), two stainless steel bowls (one large bowl with handle and one mid size bowl). Additionally, this unit came with a spatula with a slit in the end which makes cleaning the beaters easier. The beaters are easy to attach. Simply align the opening on the beater with the pin on the side of the beater bar, then rotate to secure. The bowls snap on and off easily by simply aligning the holes on each side of the bowl with the stainless pins and gently pressing down. You can feel when the bowls are properly snapped into place. Then, simply rotate the bar on the side of the unit to lower the beater into the bowl. (Please note the beaters will appear to be off-sided, but once the unit is placed in motion, the beaters will rotate all around the bowl.). The speed is easily controlled while the unit is running. Simply slide the knob on the left side of the unit to your desired speed. One feature that I noticed immediately is this unit is all stainless. It does not have any visible rubber seals or gaskets. I like this as you do not have to be concerned with the seals/gaskets becoming damaged or brittle from numerous washings. Kitchen Aid does recommend hand washing, though. Numerous other attachments are available for purchase if you are into making your own pasta, etc.). This unit is very heavy and the weight should be considered before giving to an older person. I absolutely love this mixer and can’t wait to use it more. I will definitely recommend to family and friends.
