I have purchased their pasteurized Blue Swimming crab meat in the past and found it acceptable for making Maryland style crab cakes. Do not confuse this product with Maryland Blue Crabs which are a different but similar species of crab. I noticed that most of the 5 star reviewers were not charged for the crab meat.

Very poor quality. The vendor places lump crab at the edges and bottom for the buyer to see but the rest of the meat, not sure it's crab, was a very fine "mush" hidden to trick the buyer. It is "Fishy" tasting and most likely not crab I do not recommend this crab meat. This is bait and switch at it's best and I paid a premium price at over $24 a pound. Sam's Club should stop selling it and stop doing business with this vendor.

This was not real crabmeat! It tasted terrible. What happened to the previous brand ? Not worth the $$$! I'm from Maryland and we know good not good but great crabmeat and this did NOT even come close! Bring back the original crabmeat and crab cakes please!!!!

I bought this to make crab dip for a party. The dip was mostly crab meat, w/small amount of mayo & some herbs. Tasted the crab before making the dip & thought it tasted fishy, but since I live 25 miles from Sam's Club, I used it anyway & hoped it'd taste better w/the mayo & herbs. It didn't. Very little of the dip got eaten, w/several guests agreeing it tasted fishy. Canned crab from Kroger tastes better than this crab did. I was very disappointed, especially considering it was almost $25. It was so fishy as to be described as NASTY!

very disappointed in this crab. I bought to make crab cakes, and it was disgusting. Very fishy and strong chemical taste. We ended up throwing my crab cakes in the trash. it was good lump crab sizes, but the taste was horrible. I wish I could get my money back.
