Love My New Norelco Shaver

This shaver exceeds my expectations. I have used it for just over two weeks. A couple of things that seemed like problems at first I have found to not be problems in practice. It should have the head opened and rinsed after each use. I have no problem with rinsing it while the hot water has run up to wash breakfast dishes. I then leave it open to air dry and it is ready to go by the next morning. Another reviewer said the on/off switch was in a bad place as he kept turning it off while he shaved. I had a little problem with that at first but soon found other ways to hold it that are comfortable and I have no more problem with that. It shaves very good - much closer- than my 22 YO Norelco which finally became irreparable. It remains to be seen how it will shave after longer use and when the weather is warmer and my skin more oily but for now I am very pleased.

The latest in a dependable line of shavers

This is the fifth Norelco shaver I have bought over the past forty years Three of which are still in use in various homes. This one works at least as well as any that have come before. This one feels lighter and less substantial than its predecessors but comes with an enlarged removeable trimmer which is a valuable attribute. The old flip up trimmer was the ultimate in convenience but not the best at trimming. . The replaceable blade set means they last indefinitely only limited by the lifecycle of the rechargeable batteries which have improved dramatically since the early days of Ni-cad technology.

Get a clean, close shave & a good beard trimmer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used Norelco shavers for most of my 50 years of shaving and 40 of those also required beard trimming. This new model is light and quiet. I get a clean close shave which feels better than my last shaver. The way the shaver head can move is the reason. The beard trimming attachment is great - just clicks on and off the unit. But, there are a couple of things which could be improved. There as no charging stand similar to what I've had. And the complete beard grooming attachment on the website as an accessory does not appear to fit this model. Neither one is a deal-breaker though. In the photos you see my older unit next to the new shaver with the enter pivot head. You also see the increased size of the new shaver head assembly. You can also see that the retainer ring around the cutting screens is twice the size of my older unit, and the head housing is also much wider than the old one. This makes maneuvering the razor around the edges of my beard a bit trickier, because I can't see it as well. Yes, I can use the trimmer, but not all over my face to get the clean skin right up to the edge of my beard. This could be improved. I am facing a bit more of a learning curve than I expected with this new shaver.

Good, solid razor

This is a good solid razor for an electric one. It definitely does not give the shave of a bladed razor but it's fairly close. I like the fact that it has a pivatol head and that you can pop it open and rinse it clean. I would recommend this to a friend.

nice shaver but no fine edge trimmer.

Very smooth shave. The trimmer is a bit awkward since it requires popping off the shaver head and putting on a beard trimmer. it lacks an edge trimmer for clean lines on your sideburns. best you can do is set the beard trimmer to its shortest setting but it doesn't allow fine cutting.

I have been using Norelco shavers since I retired from the military in 1978 almost exclusively. This is the worse shaver I have owned. It does not cut the wiskers on my neck properly. I have to go over my face and head several times before I feel like I've have a proper shave. And then I find wiskers it hasn't shaved.
