Unboxed, assembled, and running in 30 minutes. I was impressed with the substantial construction of the generator. Nothing flimsy here. Only running on propane right now. Will only use gasoline in the event of an extended power outage. Remote start is an option not available for many other generators. I’m very satisfied. I believe it will basically power my home if need be.

Set up was easy, instructions made sense, watch when filling oil as at the end it comes up near the filler cap which can be too much. After setting up and fueling used remote started right up, checked with the push button on the unit, that worked as well. Does not seem too loud but had no load on it. One issue was the cap over the propane connection had been shoved on and now won’t thread on correctly see picture. Also note the oil fill cap is plastic and threading into the metal. This too could be easy to mis-thread it when screwing it in, so take your time. Have not connected to house yet so we’ll see how it does and revise as needed.

Sorry happy to have this generator the first day our power went out, mind you it was out for 28 hrs. So easy to operate, great dual fuel option and very powerful! We used the propane option for running it, very clean option to use. Also has a remote start if you would like to use. GREAT GENERATOR!!!!!!

I bought this to power my house and I think it will. The Quality of the generator is excellent. The remote start is one of the reasons I went with this model as well as the 50amp outlet. It is not as loud as other generators with less wattage. The box the thing comes in is very flimsy cardboard and my frame was actually damaged. Along with a slightly bent wheel mount. Overall I love the generator.

So I usually don't write reviews until I've had a chance to really see how well something works, but while registering this product, it had me write a review. After unboxing, I turned it on it's side to attach the feet/legs. When I went to turn it upright a little oil was leaking out even though it's not supposed to have any oil in it when it ships. It wasn't full of oil, but I'm sure from when it's tested at the warehouse and then drained the oil and obviously some will be left behind. Anyway, we put gas in it and it fired right up. Haven't hooked it to my butane tank yet, but that is how we plan to use it for the most part. Luckily we haven't lost power yet to really test it out. My mother has the same generator but has only ran it on gas and it runs her entire house except for central ac/heat, water heater, and dryer. They have a transfer switch, so it's like having a whole house generator. That's our next step. Anyway, I would recommend since they've had theirs for around 4 years with the only problem being I think the ignition switch, but Westinghouse shipped them a new one free of charge. Also haven't used the key fob, but you still have to go directly to the generator to turn the switch off and on, so it's not what it seems.

My family is amazed with the power that the WGen9500 generates. We had an electrical company come out and install an emergency backup electrical outlet panel. By connecting the WGen9500 to the backup panel in times of need we will be cool in the summer, warm in the winter plus have 6 other circuits covered, which basically encompasses our entire house. Thank you Westinghouse!

I bought this generator in April of 1923 the first generator was leaking oil and that box was damages I called costumer service and they took care of my problem. Now I am getting ready for huracanes session I just took it out box today it look great the user manual is easy to read I have to wait too see how this generator preformed under real conditions

I am a user manual reader, this the best manual I have seen in a very long time. Easy to understand instructions with good pictures to reference. Most of the unit is pre assembled, just got to add the wheels and the front legs, and connect the battery ( which already charged). Filled my unit with the provided engine oil and added some gas to the tank. I rotated the engine a couple of times to lubricant the engine. I opened the fuel valve, hit the remote starter fob and it started right up, plugged in a couple fans and an electric heater and had no problems. I am waiting for the 30amp to arrive and I will have a certified electrician install it with a new breaker generator interlock. The 9500 is big enough to run my whole house besides the 220 v stuff. It is about as loud as I expected and I will be building sound box for my wife and neighbors.

We're new to Florida and are preparing for hurricane season...and a generator is a must. We were looking for a generator that would power at least 2 refrigerators and a portable ac unit. This one is easy to start, easy to use, relatively quiet and is surprisingly easy to manuever. The remote key fob was a great surprise also!

Glad I was told about this affordable generator. It is compact and easy to move around. The generator offers peace of mind, with fire season becoming a year round event and the electric company cutting power to avoid starting fires during high winds I don't need to worry about food spoilage.
