WGEN9500DF is easy to run, has great features

I love this WGEN9500DF Portable generator. 12,500 peak watts and 9500 running watts can handle my essential electrical needs with ease. I easily ran the generator with both gasoline and propane(1120/8500 watts). The hose to run with propane is easy to use. Love the push button start and remote control, but you can still manually start. I also like the fact that this generator is Transfer switch ready, has a long run time, rubber outlet covers, the VFT Data display, GFIC outlets, auto low oil shutdown, built in fuel gage & the 3 year warranty to name a few. A Big Strong Generator.

Great features and power.

We bought this just recently but have ran it awhile to test it. Passed with flying colors. Feel a lot better having this to take care of our electrical needs when the power goes out. Just feel more secure knowing we have it. Looks like an excellent purchase. It's the dual fuel model and we're planning on hooking it up to our propane system.

A Quality Westinghouse product !

My generator arrived six days early, got to like that. As a retired electrician, I am familiar with Westinghouse generation and distribution equipment, this generator is no disappointment. After unboxing I hoisted it up to eye level to install the wheels and mounting feet and give me a perfect opportunity to really give it a complete visual inspection. One problem, one of the inner mounting holes for the wheel axle had a burr that had to be removed before inserting the axle, Big Whoop! Hooked it up to propane and an electric heater to run it under a variable load for one hour shut it down for a rest then repeated for another hour.Flawless! I don't expect any problems when it is put in service.

Nice Unit

I did this process in May but I'm glad I'm redoing it now. First time I gave an incorrect serial number, I hope all is good now. I really like the unit and the features it offers. The unit seems to be well designed and I also like the db level. I actually put this unit together for my neighbor and ended up purchasing it for myself.

Well-designed unit.

Bought this generator a few weeks ago. Assembly was simple. I like many of the features of this unit. Have owned competitive models in the past. The starting system is very nicely designed. Expect to use this as a home back up and a mobile source of power around our farm for many years.

Awesome customer service!!

I purchased this a month ago, took it out of the box, put the oil and gas in etc. And then it wouldn't start. Contacted customer service and they walked me through all the trouble shooting steps. Long story short, they sent a truck, picked it up and shipped me a replacement. The new one runs perfectly and is fairly quiet for a motor that size. LOVE the remote start too!

Love the dual fuel.

I bought this for the size and the dual fuel option. I had an older gas powered generator, but was constantly having to clean and drain the carburetor. Using propane means no more carb issues. I also liked the 50amp receptacle. Assembly was only installing two wheels and the two front feet, which took 10 minutes.

mgen9500dfc remote start

This is a replacement for an old Honda 6500 generator. We were looking for a larger unit with remote star. We have not had to use the generator but, was easy to assemble and the Remote start works as described. Other reviews have said that the remote start is hard to program. I believe this may be because the instructions are confusing. On page 20 under remote start, The third and fourth bullet points are duplicated. the fourth bullet should be removed.

Solid powerful generator!

We bought this after hurricane Ian to ensure we would never be without power again and I am thrilled so far. Loaded with features and powerful enough to run everything I need it to run! I've read all the reviews and this generator by far consistently got the best reviews.

Balance of features and power

We bought this to power our home and guest house during an emergency. We looked at large (15kw) whole home systems, but couldn't justify those at 10X the cost of this 9500kw unit. We have a deep well pump and our guest house has electric heat and this can run both houses plus the well. I manually switch the two electric hot water heaters on at night when other high draw devices are not running, but otherwise every breaker is on and this just handles it. The set up of the machine was easy, although there was more play than I would liked to see on the shaft supporting the wheels so I added a second washer next to the cotter pin to reduce wear. The only thing that jumped out at me as odd were during the setup and initial operation. Their user manual is really complete and quite good but it omits a few basic things. It's fairly obvious to anyone mechanically inclined that they drained the oil prior to shipment, but the manual doesn't get to adding oil until page 18, and further seems to omit the oil capacity. The included 1qt oil is the correct capacity (actually it was not quite enough as 1qt only got it just barely above the Fill line). I liked that the manual spells out that synthetic 5w-30 is ok. Even though I didn't need it, the Spanish part of the manual didn't seem to have page numbers.
