Opened the box yesterday, added the oil, put in some gas, hit the start button and it ran just like it’s supposed to run! Always appreciate when motors start well! My electrician will be out next week to fully hook up and connect to my livestock buildings. So far I really like what I’m seeing, the Kw rating is just right for my farm needs and the 50 watt outlet is also the needed size. So far so good, the final test is set for next week with the electrician, and I have confidence in what I’m seeing!

Living in Florida, we have to anticipate the hurricane worst and so far this is looking like it is going to be a great answer to our situation. We are older, so looking for something that even my wife can handle, and she's ecstatic. Happy wife, happy life!

I finally got an electrican to hook this up for me today. I was very impressed that when I pushed the start button that after a very brief pause it started on the first try. The electrician checked the voltage from inside the breaker box and it was what it was supposed to be. My wife even turned the dryer on while we were testing and it kept right on going while TV's, lights, internet, a window AC, ceiling fans, 3 refrigerators, a freezer and I'm not sure what else was running. I was very impressed. I'm very glad that we have this backup for the next time we lose power.

I am so happy that the westinghouse generator was suggested by my electrician! Absolutely great product! No sooner did I have it wired for use...my power went out. The generator was able to power my whole house 2500 sq feet, well, and waterheater (less my central air) with absolute ease. Such a lifesaver. Would definitely recommend

I bought the model# 9500 post hurricane Beryl in July. Since we have lost power on 2 other occasions. The 9500 was available to provide power for the entire first floor of our home for 2 + days. It’s quiet, powerful and portable. Should have made the purchase years ago.

I really wanted the natural gas option. I have been hit by multiple hurricanes including Katrina (no power for 6 weeks). Finding gas after a hurricane is a nightmare but I always had natural gas. Now I won't have to worry about stock piling or trying to find gas for the next hurricane.

I bought this generator after the recent winter weather left us without power. The generator arrived fast and was easy to get operational The starting sequence is very easy and I love it can run off propane. This generator will hopefully power most of my home.

This is my first ever portable generator, and am very impressed with how easy it is to set up and use. Rock solid construction, starts right up, runs well. It is a bit on the loud side, but that's to be expected. I really like that this model has dual fuel options, it can run on gasoline or propane. I find it a lot easier to store propane that gasoline, but it's great to have the gasoline option in a pinch.

So the good first. My electrician ran a 50 amp breaker and tied it into the whole house. I thought I would need to select important ones and set it up that way. He said no this should run your whole house providing you don't go crazy meaning use a little common sense and not overdo it. So of course me being the procrastinator that I am I didn't set up the generator until the power went out. The set up is pretty easy and I got the thing up and running. I went inside turned the main breaker off. Started the generator went back in and through my 50 amp breaker on and we were in business. It ran for 2.5 hours until the power went back on. To my way of thinking I won't store gasoline for the generator. First thing I did was run the generator on propane to get it going. If I thought this was to be a long outage I would have went and bought gasoline also. Everything ran perfect on propane the heat, lights, two refrigerators freezers so I was very pleased with the performance. Now for the bad. There is no reason I can think of to have the 50 amp outlet on the generator impeded by the unfortunate placement of the wheel. The 50 amp extensions cord is very thick and was in the garage which made it very difficult to plug into the generator. So difficult that I wound up breaking a little piece of the outlet by the ground lug. I don't see it being a problem holding the cord in place but I would love to get it repaired and would also like a response from WH ( that's Westinghouse not the White House) I still give the generator 4 stars although it could have been lower because of this. Therefore, if you have a 50 amp extension cord that comes down on the angle which I believe most will because of the shear weight of the cord you actually have to bend the cord between the wheel and the generator to plug it in. now that I think about it 4 stars is for sure generous because of this problem. I posted a picture and the top slot is the ground slot and that's the one that is broken although it looks pretty normal it's now larger because I chipped it because of the difficulty plugging in.

We took our friend's advice ( a licensed master electrician ) for this generator and are very pleased. We didn't need this big of a unit to run everything in our small house. But we're glad we did. We broke it in without a load and then our friend wired the house and we put it under a load. VERT COMFORTING and reassuring. It is amazing the feeling. We've never had a back up generator and have just dealt with the power outages in Maine. Very happy with all the features and the solid feeling of this unit.
