I live on an island on the coast of Maine with the incumbent power failures, and purchased the Westinghouse 9500 DF about six months ago (99 hours of use) to replace my PowerStroke 6000 which is eight years old, still runs great, but wasn’t quite powerful enough to carry my whole house electrical system, and was getting older. This Westinghouse has been nothing but a disappointment. It constantly ”revs”, blinking the house lights when it has very little load. It shuts off on its own whim, sometimes starts and sometimes doesn’t. I’ve had all types of problems, both on traditional gas and using propane with it.(dual fuel) It seems to have no more power than my older 6000, despite claims that it’s much more powerful. In general, I use my much older smaller generator as my primary and only use this Westinghouse as a back up because I can never tell if it’s gonna run correctly. I’ve learned my lesson on buying this manufactures products. It won’t happen again.

I bought this a few months back. It took about 12-15 cranks to get it started, but after the fuel finally made it through the system it started right up and runs every time I push the button. Easy to change between gas and propane. Happy with my purchase.

I bought this generator after losing power for days after any storm that comes through or area. The 9500DFc will power up all the necessary home infrastructure required. Nice features and solid design with remote start makes this generator a dependable unit.

I assembled this duel fuel generator 9500DF as per manual, connected battery cable, hooked propane tank, no load or any appliances hooked, battery is full, and with start button it's just trying to fire up but won't work. I can hear 3-4 clicking sounds but nothing after that. I don't want to put gasoline yet in case it's bad unit and i have to return it. The pull cord is locked and won't pull at all; looks like engine is locked. Opened a case with Westinghouse; if they can't help on this brand new machine I will return it.

This generator works great right out of the box.I love the remote start and the dual fuel option. It switches between fuels flawlessly on the fly. It easily powered a 9500 btu air conditioner and 1000 watt halogen work light simultaneously (didn't want to put to much load on it before break in period was over). The generator appears to be high quality and arrived in perfect condition.

I live in Houston, Tx. We have weather related power outages every 4 to 5 years. I am using this generator to connect to connect to an axillary 10 circuit transfer switch to give me temporary power for my refrigerator and nine other circuits in my home. Kind of a poor man's back up generator at a fifth of the price. The duel fuel capabilities, portability, size and power will be more than enough to meet my needs.

Just received my Westinghouse 9500WGen DF 50 Amp generator. The generator was delivered in great condition and the setup could not have been any easier. Work instructions were clear and accurate and everything needed for setup was provided in the box. Tested the dual fuel function and both worked well and were easy to switch over. Appears to be well built can't wait to try it out on our first power outage.

Great generator! Purchased the Westinghouse 9500DF, a friend recommended this one. He said his lasted 11 days on only 2 tanks of propane during Hurricane Ian! Tested with propane and remote and it started right up.ran our AC unit, lights freezer and fridge with ease. It gives me peace of mind to know I’ll be ready for the next hurricane. Also easy to store

Very pleased with this generator. Runs our whole house including the A/C. Awesome, with just a flick of the transfer switch and we are home free. Goodbye hurricane outages. Live in Florida and after Ian, we will not be left in the dark again or lose our freezer food.

I purchased this model wgen9500df April of 2021. I chose this model and brand because of its reputation and other online reviews it did not disappoint! Was able to hook it up to my main house panel using a interlock switch Powers my whole house now! Easy to start with either push button , remote control or pull start great product!
