Purchased this as a partial home backup generator given the increasing frequency of storms knocking out power in our neighborhood. Now we can open the garage door, keep our security system and internet online, and keep our fridges running so our food doesn't spoil while waiting on the power to be restored. Stoked about this addition to our home and investment in our future. (Though truthfully, I hope it's rarely used!)

We have just fired this up for the first time in preparation for an all day power outage for maintenance. Our electrician was impressed with it and after turning our power on with it feel it is going to be very good to us. Our power outages will no longer be troublesome. Thank you.

I did a fair amount of research on generators before I decided to purchase this one... It seemed to have all the features I wanted except idle control but the remote start made up for that. I bought it for backup in case of power failure so hopefully I won't need to use it much but when I do I'm confident this Westinghouse 9500 will do the job!

Works great for our purpose. Remlte Start is a must. 40 hours in, starting problems related to stepper motor choke operation. Trying to get resolved. Though Warranty info does not require registration, only proof of purchase, was surprised to find that it must be registered to get to a tech. Seems odd.

Bought it as a back up to power the house essentials. Propane option and remote start make it easy to operate. Started at the first try w/o any problem. I am happy with the purchase and would recommend it. appears to be a solid build as expected (i did a lot of research prior to making the purchase)

Unit arrived earlier that originally stated. It is a very heavy unit but installing the wheels and feet are easier if you block up the unit instead of trying to tip it on its side as indicated in the manual. Startup on propane was painless and immediate. Unit shipped with the GFCI receptacles in the tripped state. Once reset, all worked as expected. The only suggestion would be shipping enough oil with the unit to actually fill to the recommended level of between the low and high marks on the dipstick. The oil shipped with the unit barely made it to the low mark. Fortunately, I had oil of the same rating to add.

Just delivered today. Easy set up. Started right up after filling with oil and gas. The battery even seems to be fully charged. I had read some reviews about the rubber feet falling off due to the lack of locking nuts, and planned to Loctite them, but Westinghouse must have listened because the feet were held on with locking nuts. I haven't had a chance to actually test the unit for power output because this is replacing a very old generator with less output and my electrician needs to upgrade the feed to the panel to handle the 50 amp output. The only question I have is why the supplied oil doesn't seem to fill the crankcase, and why no actual oil spec is listed anywhere. I do want to top it up, but I don't want to mix types.

Unpacked this generator this past weekend. Followed the instructions. At first start, engin ran rough and then stopped. It restarted and stopped several times. Then after sitting for about an hour, I restarted it and it ran very smoothly. I let it run for approx. 5 minutes and then plugged in a refrigerator. The generator shut down immediately. I unplugged the refrigerator and restarted the generator. Haven't been able to restart it. Letting it sit overnight to restart.

This generator is an upgrade from one we have used for a while. The electric start, 50 amp breaker, and large gas tank are definite plusses. We live on the Great Plains and power loss is a possibility throughout the year. The machine was well packaged for shipment and assembly was a snap. I was up and running in less than an hour from unpacking to first startup. This is a great "peace of mind" purchase.

Bought online, assembly easy, great mobility, added oil, battery charged, started right up with push button start. So relieved to have a back up generator with such power. Tested electricity delivery to house electric bow after installing transfer lock to main box. Everything worked flawlessly.
