GREAT Generator

One of my neighbors has one of these and he recommended it. This is an excellent generator, well made, great features, and puts out 9500 running watts on gas. Switching back and forth between fuels is seemless. It starts and runs well on either type of fuel. Provides 50amp service, which makes running most electric home appliances possible (water heater, electric stove, etc.). I would highly recommend it.

Awesome generator

I needed a generator after my power went out for multiple days. Never again will I have to throw out all of the food in my fridge or have to relocate my whole family to the in-laws while everything was getting sorted out. This generator was easy to set up and the controls are super easy. Not sure how my generator has a remote start, but it is pretty cool! I can power my whole house, no problem.

Well Built

Just purchased this generator after being without power for 5 days. After much searching for the best I decided on the Westinghouse 9500 dual fuel. Took it out of the box, install the wheels and support legs added oil and gas and one touch of the button and it was running. The unit is well laid out and easy to get to everything. They have even redone the battery connector so all you have to do is plug the 2 wires together. Also like the fact that it comes with a battery tender so you do not have to worry about a dead battery when the time comes to use it.

Great unit

I bought this unit today, brought it home, unpacked and assembled the wheels and supports, filled it with oil, hooked up the propane, and the engine started right up. I am very happy with the documentation and instructions. I only plan on using this gen in emergencies, but I live in Florida, so odds are it will get used.

Awesome Generator

We bought this just in time for hurricane season. This will run the majority and major things in the house. It is dual fuel so we can use gas or LP which is nice because here in Florida most gas stations will run out of gas, but there is always lP around. It has a remote start keychain, this is so nice, hands down best ever!

Powerful Generator w/ Easy Start Up

I've only used it once for about an hour and a half, but so far, I am very impressed. It started up immediately and with ease via the push of a button. It handles the load from everything in my house without bogging. I used it in the gasoline mode. I have yet to use it on the propane setting. Based on our rough calculation, it seems to use around 1 gallon/hr of gas. It has a 6.6 gal tank. Your average gas can is 5 gallon, so I anticipate needing to refill it every 5 hours or so in an extended usage situation. I love the wheel and handle system. It makes this very heavy piece of equipment move with ease.

Everything I need in a back up generator

Hurricanes and winter storms can leave us without electric service—sometimes for days. I had an electrician install a simple connector to provide me an input that allows me to power my 2300 sq ft house all the lights, tv, even the central A/C (but not the furnace.) And because it runs on gas or propane, I can borrow the tank from my gas grill if the gas stations can’t pump gas because their powers out.

Works great

Bought this for a what turned out to be a multi day power outage. Easy to assemble the few pieces that came in the box. Had a bit of trouble getting it to start but a quick shot of starter fluid fixed that. Used for about 2 days with absolutely no issues. Did the first oil change which was relatively simple with easy access to drain bolt. Was happy to find out unit was quieter than I expected as well.

Easy to set up, easy to use

I recently paired the Westinghouse 9500 with an interlock system for seamless power transitions during outages, and I couldn’t be happier with the setup. The generator is incredibly easy to use and set up, even for someone without much experience. The remote start is a standout feature for those with a bad back like me. As far as capacity goes, I am able to support my base load, my 3.5 ton downstairs A/C unit along with 2-4 major appliances without the need of a soft-start on the A/C unit. One thing to note: it’s heavy. Moving it can be tricky if you’re not prepared. Take it from me—fully extend the handle before trying to move it. Trust me, it makes a world of difference (learned that the hard way, lol). Overall, it’s a solid, dependable generator that performs exactly as advertised. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a powerful and user-friendly portable generator!

Simple setup Runs well

Really liked choice to use either propane or gasoline. Somewhat more noise than I expected (compared to 18 year old 5500 John Deere) but also has much more power. Need to change transfer box connector (from 20 to 30 or 50 amp) before I really know what can do. So far, space heater, several lights and 7A air compressor don’t create a noticeable load. Looking at upgrading transfer to cover more than essential circuits (well pump, fridge, kitchen & electric parts of propane stove & water heater).
