It's definitely thicker and doesn't fray/tear when it's not supposed to, yet it has great sticking power. You won't be disappointed when you use it. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I usually use a different brand of shipping tape but I recently tried the Scotch brand Box Lock Shipping Tape and was surprised with how great it worked! I had a few boxes I wanted to tape up and this tape adhesive is strong and held them sealed! The roll was easy to get started, stays stuck to the dispenser for easy finding, is thicker, and tears straight across without slivering, splitting, or tearing, unlike my regular brand of shipping tape! It's also easy to use with one hand while multitasking, I just wish it had more tape on the roll than provided with this brand. If you're looking for shipping tape, look no further! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Scotch Box Lock Packaging Tape is a good quality tape. It does indeed stick instantly to boxes. The boxes are sealed and feel secured. The tape itself feels thick and very durable. You can tell that this is a high quality product. The roll is easy to start and even if it slips off the holder and re-sticks to the roll, I found it easy to restart it. Very good tape for shipping or storage. I used it to reuse a box, previously received that I wanted to reuse to ship something. Tape is thicker than the normal one I use, it also did not get all stuck and matted together.

This is a fairly standard tape dispenser but the tape has good weight and stick to it and dispenses very quietly unlike some rolls I have had in the past. I cannot speak to durability as i haven;t had it long enough.

For starters, I love that it was easy to find the start of the roll. This tape grips securely, and I did not feel like I had to use layer after layer. Lots of waste with other shipping tape as the holder is too loose, the tape holder doesn't work and when you go peel it off the roll it just shreds into many pieces, or the tape gets crumpled and you just throw away. Not with this product.
