[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I first used this knife sharpener on the Santoku style knife I had to pull it through the sharpener about 60 times (coarse and then fine) to finally get it sharp enough to cut paper. It’s much sharper than it was before so the sharpener works, it just took a lot of effort to get it there.

I am usually not a proponent of pull through sharpeners. They are often misused. However the ceramic rods that do the work in this sharpener actually work! They don't make me second guess if they are working, and therefore I don't have to run my knife through it a million times, and ruin my blade. Make sure you know how to use it correctly and you will enjoy having this to maintain your knives.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Has a nice sturdy handle and grips to any surface for a nonslip stability. The standard sharpening guide is good but it has the Asian guide which is great when needing that sharper edge when cutting on the fly.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Works great on blades made of softer steel. Which are the ones you need to sharpen most. It is very convenient, quick and easy to sharpen your knife while you are cooking and realize your knife went dull. I’ll keep trying to sharpen my knifes made of harder steel to see if I get them as sharp as they used to be. Otherwise will have to use electric sharpener for those. Other slightly unpleasant side effect is noise. It gives me goosebumps, but I suppose can’t sharpen without it with this kind of sharpener. Previously I used electric 3-steps grinder for my knifes, then switched to stone grinder which is great, but not as quick since you have to soak it first. If your knife has any, even tiny chips in the blade, you cannot use this sharpener.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like how it is made for the different blade angles so you can sharpen it properly. Own several types of knifes that require this detail. I hate looking up the angles and using the adjustable type sharpener. The adjustable sharpeners will eventually fatigue and the angles change as you pull the knife through the sharpener. This one won't do that as they are fixed.

A nice little 4-stage sharpener, for both the German and Asian made knives in your collection. Does the trick, but will be the first to be replaced among ceramic or stone sharpening methods. It also tears away at your blade more than traditional sharpening methods, leaving a pile of steel behind. Best to learn gentler ways to treat your investment.
