The length, I would say is more for overnight protection verses during the day. However, can be used any time. These are also great for postpartum, bladder leaks and even a heavier monthly flow. I've personally used them on my heavier cycle nights and even suffer from a weakened bladder from having my three children. They've worked excellent for me. The stickiness of the adhesive is pretty good although I think could be a little better considering the length of the pad. However, nothing I can't handle. Overall, I'm impressed & think many women can benefit from them.
