Updating

We bought this laptop to replace a really old one! It definitely was time! We love this new one so far. I’m still getting used to navigating the Windows 11, because my old one was still using Windows 8!! But I’m sure we will get used to it. We are retired and haven’t really needed a computer as much so didn’t feel the need to update our old one. But of course grandchildren forced us into the new computer age! Haha, they probably will be teaching us the newest version!

HP17.3max

The 17.3 screen is a nice plus from the usual small laptop screen, runs smooth and has great clarity. The keyboard is also a substantial upgrade with its larger size keys and spacing of a desktop. This laptop has more than sufficient speed and capacity for my home use and it was relatively easy to setup with my preferred apps. Pretty much comes ready to go if you use all the Microsoft and Macafee installs which have free trial periods, but require a charge card input for annual fees.

Laptop upgrade

I love this laptop. The main reason I bought this was because the keyboard is lighted and it helps me to see in dim light. My older laptop is not lit on the keypad and the keys. I also like that the keys are softer. I love it.

HP laptop is a very good buy.

Very nice laptop at a very good price, but I believe that I was sold the model that was on display and not a new one. It was not packaged like it was factory sealed. Fortunately it came with a 2 year warranty, so I have hope that it will be repaired if needed should something happen.

Defective Speaker, Alas

This had the potential to be a nice laptop, with nice features at the price, but after spending two days geting it set up, I discovered the onboard speaker wasn't working (confirmed via conversation with HP), and I returned it in favor of a different model. So learn from my error--make sure the hardware gadgets are actually working (certainly speaker, mic, and camera) before spending too much time settting it up.

HP – 17.3" Full HD IPS Laptop

Mine has some issues. I have to reboot/ restart it several times a day, as it tells me that I have no internet, while our other computers have no problem. Last night I couldn't get my computer's camera to work. It said it couldn't be accessed because it was already being used elsewhere. My husband finally tapped the camera, and son of a gun, it came on (half screen), while the other 1/2 was still black. I am not happy with this purchase.

HP’s warranty is nonexistent

This is when I unboxed the computer. The laptop wasn’t connecting to the internet. Called HP tech support. After being on hold for about 20 minutes, spoke to level one technician. Told her the problem. She put me on hold in order to get help because she didn’t know how to fix the problem! Level two technician came online and before doing anything told me that I need to subscribe to tech support and agree to pay $16 a month for a year or pay $160 at once! After I complaining that I just took the computer out of the box and it should be under warranty he said I need to talk to the level three who is the supervisor. By this time I was ready to explode. He kept saying the same thing that I have to pay before get any help. Finally I got fed up and hung up. Next morning I took the laptop back to Sam’s Club and told them what happened and they said they had never heard such thing and apologized. I returned the HP laptop and got my money back and promised myself never buy another HP product. What does warranty means? Obviously HP doesn’t give a crap about the customer after the sale. WOW! What a B. S experience. HP can go to …..

Satisfaction not guaranteed

The laptop I purchased must have been pre-owned before I purchased it, but it was NOT advertised as pre-owned. It had a 2-year warranty and now I know why. When I received this product, I was unable to assign my name as the current administrator because another individual's name had already been assigned to it. So, at this point the current administrator (not me) had my e-mail attached to his name. I called HP and was advised I would need to return it to Sam's Club and get a new laptop because only the original administrator has permission to change or delete the name. I went online again trying to get the same model HP17-cn2068cl because I liked the 2-year guarantee. However, the same model and 2-year promo was no longer available at Sam's Club online. Instead, this model was now being sold and less expensive at Wal-Mart, and was being sold as PRE-OWNED. I did not want that. I ended up getting another and more expensive HP which I purchased this time through Amazon online. When setting the newly purchased laptop up, again the same individual's name that was assigned as administrator with the first laptop, appeared on this 2nd one. What a nightmare, I was trying to get my taxes done. I ended up taking the 2nd laptop to professionals at a computer office to fix the problem and had to pay for their services out of pocket.
