A great low impact workout
I had been looking for an alternative to running, something with lower impact on my knees, I heard that rowers have very little to no impact on joints, so I decided to give it a try. So far the workouts have been great, I love how it doubles as both a cardio and strength training exercise. The set up was easy, the instructions are pretty straight forward, I was a little worried about it's size when I ordered it online, I wasn't sure if it would fit the space I had, but it has a very sleek design and you'll be surprised on how much space you can conserve when you fold it up. I had a little bit of trouble activating the control panel on the machine, the manual suggests that you must sign up for the iFit program in order to activate the console, (don't worry they offer the first 30 days free) but you can bypass this by holding down on the iFit blue button for about 10-15 seconds. Once I got that figured out it was smooth sailing from there on out. I love that I still get that fully intensive workout I would at the gym, but have the convenience to do it at home. My overall experience has been that of a positive one. I was given this product for a reduced price in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion.
After my husband was injured, he wanted to find some way he could still get in a good workout with less pressure on his joints. He already enjoyed rowing, but we didn’t have the room for a huge rowing machine in our home. This machine is perfect for our situation. I love that it folds up and wheels out easily, so we can store it in our closet and pull it out daily to use. It stays out of the way and out of sight when not in use and isn’t to heavy to move out every day. We have been using this rower for several weeks now and have experienced no problems. The machine works well, the iFit program makes workouts more fun, and we both enjoy the tracking features. I was given this product for a reduced price in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion.
Thanks for your comments and review of our product. Good luck to you and your husband on reaching your fitness goals!
Good for tall people
Sturdy with no wobble despite my weight being just over the maximum stated 250 lbs. Very quiet. Long slide accommodates tall people. I’m 6’6” lbs and I have no problem getting a full extension of my legs on the way back without hitting the backstop. Assembly was easy. I was able to do it alone. Resistance range is from 1 to 24, and 24 is a serious workout. So far so good.
Love it So Far
Pros: This is a sturdy, quiet, and attractive rower with no noise from the flywheel and only slight noise from the seat. The rower can be used at any time without disturbing others. There is enough resistance to challenge me, a non-athletic person, for decades. The rower is also easy on my joints. Novices like me should start with some tutorials. I learned that my form was wrong, and I got a blister on my hand from gripping the handle too hard. Con: iFit requires a credit card to use the product, and the entire amount is billed up-front. You must cancel within the first 30 days to get a refund. Other Info: IFit Cardio. I have not used iFit enough to evaluate it entirely, but I am exercising more intensely and sweating compared to when I work out on my own. There are a good number of videos, including tutorials on proper rowing form. You do not get live rowing classes. For now, that seems to be reserved for the top-of-the-line NordicTrack (NT) RW900 rower, explaining why some instructors talk to us as if we are on a NT. Proform and NT are under the same parent company Icon Fitness, so I had to use my old NT treadmill password to register the rower. It does not seem possible to fast forward the tutorials or view them offline. Also, rowing is likely newer to iFit than cycling and running, which are heavily feature on the iFit website. The app update history shows that iFit makes regular updates to improve the user experience. Setup: Setup was OK, but the instructions were not great, for example, the directions had us looking for parts that were pre-attached. Tip: If the console is stuck on “HELLO,” pressed and hold the blue iFit sticker/button on the console for about 10-15 seconds, then let go once it starts the reset. Console Video: A tablet up to 10” or a smartphone can be attached to the console. The videos can also be mirrored onto supported TVs from compatible mobile devices, for example, from android smartphones with screen mirroring to smart TVs or through a Roku streaming device. I also tested Apple Airplay on an iPad/iPhone through Apple TV. Walmart: I love dealing with Walmart because its customer service is reliable, and the shipping/pickup options are convenient. The peace of mind is worth missing an iFit perk ordering direct from Proform.

It’s a good machine!
Being a runner, I had been looking for something to help in my cross training and this seems to be a great machine for the job! Set up was relatively easy and despite it’s length, it is slim and quite compact. It is quiet and smooth in its movement and provides good resistance even at its lowest setting, giving you a good workout! I love that the feet adjust, and that all my kids (youngest being 13) can use it comfortably. The only thing I’m not too crazy about is not being able to activate the console without signing up for the iFit program. While iFit gives you some pretty great workouts, is fun to use, and is compatible with multiple pieces of equipment, it was frustratingly not being able to just use the console... I later learned how to bypass the sign-up, but had already signed up. Not being a rower, I also wished there were more instructions/ explanations on the settings for the console. Overall, I am very happy with the machine itself!! I was given this product for a reduced price in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion.
Hi Sheli, thanks for your comments and honest review. I'm glad to hear your whole family can use it comfortably. Good luck in reaching your fitness goals!
Very nice rowing machine
This rower is awesome. From the first time it showed up in the shipping box, I was impressed. The ease of setting the machine up, it literally took 10 min, from start to finish with the easy to read and follow instructions. Within a half hour I was signed into IFIT and off Rowing the beautiful waters of the Pacific Northwest. My entire family has used it. The smoothness of the row is especially nice. It also folds up easy and unfolds to use as easy, not very heavy, but very sturdy. I highly recommend purchasing this product!
Seriously disappointing!!!!
I purchased online on Jan.1, 2020 and it arrived via FedEx on Jan. 8, 2020. I got home excited to get started rowing; assembled on Jan. 9, 2020 which wasn't too bad; plugged it in and there was a very loud banging noise coming from the round drum part of the rower (think a shoe in a drier!). I immediately registered my machine and submitted a ticket via Icon online. Still nothing back from them the following day so I got on chat while at work and was told I need to call so they can hear the noise. Called this morning @ 5 am PT before work and was told that I have to take the entire front apart "to help them troubleshoot"! Wait, I'm supposed to disassemble this thing and remove 20+ screws and bolts before you can even help me?? Then the Customer Service rep. proceeded to scold me for having it in the garage!?!?!? Well, sir . . . I'm not lugging a brand new broken piece of equipment into my 2 story home before I know it works when it was delivered IN FRONT OF MY GARAGE which is where I chose to assemble it. I would love to take it inside of my house and workout as planned however that's not an option. Awesome customer service! This is going back to Costco on Saturday, unbelievable! Thanks, Icon . . . . .
Awesome full body workout on quality equipment
Loved using this rower. I have a love hate relationship with rowing because it’s such a good workout but hurts every time. This rower has been awesome to use. Came with great set up instructions and was able to do the entire set up my self. A few of the pieces are heavy and may require a second hand to help with the set up but once put together the rower is super sturdy and the fact that it still folds in half is awesome for storage and keeping it out of the way when you don’t have a lot of room. The seat is the right amount of softness making it super comfortable to use. Most rowers I’ve used have hard seats that become really uncomfortable. The seat also slides very smoothly on the rail. Every once in a while I would max out how far the seat can come forward and would hit when coming forward but most of that is probably due to my form and positioning. The I Fit blue tooth system has been awesome. It makes pushing through the grueling part of rowing a lot more fun and I get a lot more out of my workout with the programs included. It’s nice to be able to just follow along and have it even change the resistance for you. And the tablet/phone holder is super secure so you don’t have to worry about your phone wiggling free and falling off. The rower is also super quiet allowing you to workout whenever and wherever you want. I was a little worried about the foot straps to begin with but found out they are actually more secure and comfortable than any other rower I’ve used. When really getting after it and rowing as hard as I could there was a little bit of lag in the pull strap being sucked back in but the majority of the time it was fully reset by the time I started the next pull and for the amount of time I was able to row that hard it was negligible. I have used other rowers a lot and am not disappointed at all with this rower. Awesome full body work out on a quality piece of equipment. I was given this product for a reduced price in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion.
Decent rower, subscription bundling is annoying
like the features and the pull / reach. Difficult to get started with the obligatory subscription that you have to start (and then quickly cancel) before it even allows you to work out with it. still trying to figure out how to get it to show meters rowed instead of cycling through cals, minutes, etc. probably should have just bought the Concept 2 to be honest. overall, it's ok.
Great way to work out!
This rower is very user friendly. There is a small amount of assembly that needs to take place in order to use it for your first time. The instruction manual was very easy to follow along with. I appreciated the fact that they showed you what tools you would need and the set-up process was easy to do. The machine works great. I LOVE that it holds your ipad and iphone so well. It has an aux port; and that was a bonus for me. It is easy to adjust your resistance, and is something our whole family can work out with at various levels and physical needs. I did have to activate iFit to get the programs to begin. I enjoy working out to the programs, especially the 10 minute Body Blast, for the reason that some days, that is all I have to spare for a workout. I enjoy the programs and like how you do some of your workout both both on and off the machine. Having been an elliptical user prior to this machine, I am definitely sold on working out with the rower. A negative aspect to this rower is that there is nowhere on the machine to put a water bottle or cup. It would be great to have that as an option or an attachment that could be purchased. I was given this product for a reduced price in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion.
Hi Shauna, thanks for your comments and review. I've passed along your water bottle suggestion along to our lead engineers for product review. Good luck to you and your family on reaching your fitness goals!
