I have purchased this fish several times and have had no issues. This time I bought on Aug 8. The to use by date is Aug 13th. Today is the 10th. Is was so stinky and spoiled. Spent over 18.00 for the filets and had to throw it away. So disappointed!

Bought this on two different occasions from 2 different location In Tampa. Both times it tasted very bitter and gross. I looked it up and it turns out that happens when the gallbladder of the fish is sliced and the bile spills all over the meat and absorbs. Very disgusting. Wasted $40. I wish I could get my money back.

Oh, the ammonia smell coming from this fish is just awful!!! My partner boiled the cod in water with a little sugar to get the smell out (then baked with paprika and butter). The fish physically looks fine but stinks. I will NEVER purchase it again.

It was very fishy smelling. Seemed old. We ate it that night and it didn’t make anyone sick, but we all agreed we didn’t want to save what was left over. Pretty disappointed because we have bought it before and liked it. I buy salmon, fresh and smoked, fresh tilapia and fresh trout regularly, and those have always been great. Won’t be trying the cod again any time soon!

Price is right. Location is convenient

Way too expensive and lots of water added. But very good fish!
