This is absolutely the best ice maker I have ever bought and I have bought at least 6! I just can’t say how amazed I am with this machine. It makes ice fast and keeps the bin full. Tank is easy to fill and I use filtered water, not tap water. I love the soft pellet ice so much better than the nugget ice. Should have bought this one the first time! Excellent price, great purchase! GE products rock! One note, this machine was too high to fit under our cabinets so had to place on our bar cart which was fine!

Just got this a couple weeks ago and it's awesome. Makes ice just like sonic ice. It's quiet and makes a lot of ice. So glad I finally gave in and got it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] While this ice maker generates good ice, it produces the most obnoxious and annoying sounds to the point my kid couldn't sleep through the night. I had to unplug it 2 days after I got it hooked up.

The internal water reservoir on these machines are warm and dark; a perfect environment for bacteria and mold. When the unit we had was not producing as much ice, we took it apart. Even though it was regularly descaled and disinfected, the water reservoir and tubing around the reservoir were green and reminded us of pond scum. I am not talking about the side unit that you fill with water. This is the reservoir at the top of the unit. We were shocked, as the ice looked and tasted OK. The water in the reservoir was discolored and as you can see from the photo, there was a thick biofilm. There are YouTube videos mentioning this. Read the comments. I suspect all of these machines look like this over time....

It makes the ice and is good ice. However, the way to scoop ice and resivor is cheap and difficult to maneuver without spilling ice out on floor.

Arrived in damaged box and had been repackaged on its side with everything just thrown on top. Contacted customer service and they recommended I return the ice maker in store, however I live 2 hours away from a store, which is why I ordered it in the first place. They then offered a return shipping label, which I accepted. I purchased the ice maker on sale and would have much rather just gotten an exchange, because now I probably won't be rebuying it once I receive my refund in 7-10 days after the unit is returned.

The good: Delivery was on point. Super compact fir unser cabinet. Beautiful ice nuggets..yeah!! The Bad: Followed the instructions for cleaning. Ran the ice once and no issues. Ran it a second time....The sci-fi alien screeching sound when the gear, after the second run, freezes with ICE..No kidding. Unplugged and waited one whole day. Ran first, a little bit of nuggets, then the alien came back. Returned and refunded. Cant show the gear frozen..

The water reservoir has a flawed design. When you add water to the tank and turn it upside down, the lid opens.

After running for 2 hours started squeeking so loud it scared the dog. Could not talk above the noise. When turned off it continued squeeling. Returning
