The blend is one of my favorites. It's also nice to get coffee roasted more recently than the Peet's at the grocery stores. But the one lb bag is too tall and narrow to use easily even for my little hand. Wider bags would make it so much easier to use.

I have tried all sorts of coffee blends and always come back to Major D's. It is so smooth, bold and not nearly as acidic tasting as a French roast. I do put a bit of half and half in my coffee, but no other flavors or sweeteners. Major D's is the perfect drinking coffee, no doctoring needed!

Major Dickasons's is my tried and true go-to and it never disappoints. A fabulous rich cup in the morning is the only way I want to start my day. Opening a new bag is like heaven! The aroma is a hint of what is in store. One hearty cup of this and my day can begin. It is quite the tragedy if I run out.

Would go with a 4.5 if allowed. This is the coffee my wife and I prefer, since our previous coffee roaster went out of business. The "flavor profile" is listed as earth, spice, and everything. It does not taste like dirt or rocks, so not earth. Which spice? Not basil, thyme, chili, garlic, etc. I have yet to detect a spice. Not sure what "everything" mean. If it mean coffee flavor, yes it tastes like coffee. It tastes like it smells - coffee. (We have an automatic expresso machine the grinds whole bean.)

Was looking for some great roasted coffee to serve over the holidays & stumbled onto Peet's. Have enjoyed Peet's in the past but not lately plus I live very rural so it takes over an hour to get to any large town with a large retail chain. Anyway ordered on line & due to the roasting process and shipping issues my order took 2 weeks to get to me. I am disappointed in the Major Dickanson blend because yes it is strong but the taste is not for me. It has a smokey cigar blend taste.....I know sounds like wine but I am sure for those that love this type of smokey intense flavor......well this is definitely the coffee bean for them. I also ordered the Columbia blend and it is very good. Again the order took forever but I guess sometimes you have to wait when it comes to roasting a coffee bean to perfection!

The coffee is delicious. This was out 1st experience with grinding our own beans. We find that the coffee is fresher and hearty. We tried using up our old blended, canned and ground coffee - no longer does it for us. Once we got used to the order routine, we were completely satisfied. We are setting up automatic ordering to make sure we have a constant supply.

I can't imagine starting my day without several mugs of Major Dickason's blend. Wonder full flavored coffee and I always know it was recently roasted. Pete's does a great job providing fresh roasted coffee via mail order, and puts that date right on the bag.

I bought the coffee for my niece, a California girl who now lives in Virginia. Her husband is deployed with the Navy, she is at home with 3 kids under age 11.....homeschooling, working, and doing all the other things a military wife must deal with. She loves Peet's, so this was a treat for her. My husband and I are Peet's fans and we drink your coffee daily in our home. Thank you for always helping to start our day off right!

I've been a huge fan of Peet's coffee for years! My everyday blend is Major Dickason's, I love the Italian Roast as my espresso drink go-to, and I am also a huge fan of Sumatra, French Roast, Aged Sumatra, and quite a few others. I started buying their whole bean coffees at the Menlo Park, CA, Palo Alto, CA, and Berkeley, CA locations 30+ years ago! It's convenient to receive them regularly on a subscription, since I now live 2000 miles from California, and have a difficult time finding my favorites in local stores here. Most do carry Peet's Coffee, but not the entire line and all of my favorites.

I buy this often as well as my Kenya Auction Lot and my Guatelaman San Sebastian, all 3 I love in the morning. I know Major coffee can be bought in the supermarket but I love my coffee freshly roasted and shipped......great fresh flavor. I love tearing the bag open and smelling that intoxicating aroma. Can't wait till morning comes so I can have my Peets!
