Generator runs fine out of the box. Still working through the break in period so I don't know how it will do under full load but the remote start does not work. The manual shows a different control panel and the remote pairing instructions don't work.

We did a lot of due diligence looking at various generators and reading reviews. This Westinghouse Dual Fuel iGen4500 generator had the highest 5 Star rating and it is living up to those reviews. We are VERY happy we purchased this one. Received delivery on a Friday and was in the woods camping on Saturday. It performed excellent!!!

After researching the best rv generators I decided to go with the IGen4500DF. The reviews I read were definitely right on! I hooked up the battery put oil in and hit the button and wow, it fired up immediately and just purred. This thing is even more quiet than I expected! Love it couldn’t be happier!

Ordered, picked it up, read manual, added oil, hooked up battery, hooked up propane tank...open propane value, selected fuel, turned switch on, turned off eco, pushed starter button...started right up!! For first initial test, plugged in a dual control heat gun and when trigger pressed, the generator reacted accordingly, depending on high or low setting. Looking forward to connecting to our RV trailer next weekend.

After researching portable inverter/generator models on a few independent consumer sites, and based on their ratings, we made the decision to purchase the iGen4500DF generator in November of 2024. We wanted something compact to use for temporary backup of essential appliances in the event of a power outage. We also intend to use it to power an RV at un-serviced campsites. The unit started and ran flawlessly from initial start-up, and through the break-in period, cycling from gasoline to propane, and back to gasoline several times over the recommended 5-hour initial break-in run. Electrical appliances were cycled during break-in varying generator output from 25% - 50%. At the end of the break-in cycle an additional appliance was added increasing power output to 90%. In all cases the generator governed the engine rpm smoothly throughout the electrical load variations. The unit is well designed with robust body panels, and the control panel is nicely laid out and easy to understand. The handles to lift the generator are well designed allowing the unit to be lifted while wearing thick gloves. The retractable handle for moving the unit on its wheels is also a nice feature (easier on the back). I was able to stop and start the unit with the remote from 60 ft with no issue. I didn't try any further than 100 ft, but I don't have any reason to believe that it wouldn't work further away that that. The unit is nice and quiet, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable compact inverter/generator with good power output.

I wanted to put the 4500df through one season before leaving my review. I am very happy with my purchase. More than enough power to run every single appliance in my travel trailer. I opted for the 4500 for this reason. I also opted for the dual fuel version so that I didn’t have to pack gasoline on my camping trips. I’m already bringing propane so why would I bother with the risk of spilling gasoline?! The push button starter and remote start make operation so easy. The 30amp receptical and 15amp standard recepticals are exactly what I wanted as well. I only have 1 or two complaints… The provided oil bottle contains too much oil, despite the manual saying it is exactly the right amount to add. I over filled the oil then had to drain some up and clean up the resulting mess that I wasn’t prepared for. I changed the oil at 25 hours and had similar difficulty. The drain plug is difficult to access, but doable, but the rubber plug and hole below the drain plug is not big enough to allow the old oil to drain out cleanly. It results in a mess simply by following the manual directions. I’ll have to come up with a better system next time. I wouldn’t say this was a user issue, but more of a design issue. The 4500df is quiet! We had several other campers comment to us throughout the summer on how quiet it was and asked what kind it was. The case is durable and sturdy. The telescoping suitcase style handle and wheels are awesome too. It’s heavy, but not so heavy that a moderately strong person can’t lift it in and out of a truck on his own. 2 people can handle it easily. I’m very happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend to others.

The only negative are a plastic oil dipstick and a hole that is a little small and hard to get your hand in there. Also I tried to take the cover off and one of the screws stripped right off the bat. It did run my refrigerator and air conditioner.

this duel fuel was exactly what I was looking for in watts for camper A/C and running other small appliances in camper. Light weight made it easy to load in truck and take with us. RV power cord will reach without having to remove. Very Happy I located this generator.

I'm giving this review to get the free generator cover. With that said, after putting oil in the generator this thing started right up with the pull start, electric start, and remote start off of propane fuel. Fuel. I did a test run on my 30-ft sport Trek camper with no problems. So far so good

We bought our generator last year and we were very happy with it. It worked great with our 29 foot travel trailer. We have had no issues running everything we need to run in our trailer. Took our trailer out in the Arizona summer and ran our AC all day long with no issues. We only used a couple of times when a recall occurred. Hats off to Westinghouse for notifying us right away. They sent out a shipping label, we sent our generator back to them free of charge and within the same week we received our new one. Great customer service!
