We bought this generator to use with our camper when we are boondocking. When we received the generator we took it out of the box, read the directions, filled it with the provided oil and hooked it up to our RV propane. It started the first time and was able to power our air conditioner and microwave at the same time. We have since used it for a full week boondocking for a total of around 10 hours without an issue. I will also say that the remote start is nice, with the push of a button we had power without having to go outside to start the unit.

I bought this to upgrade our wattage from our Honda i2000 eu for our home use during the Planned Safety Power Shutoffs courtesy of PGE in NorCal. I love being able to use propane or gas. just switch it. easy peasey. My spouse loves the electric start. we had an electrician install a manual transfer switch in our power panel so now we can pretty much run everything in the house. mini split, or swamp cooler. 2 fridges and freezer along with all lights and stove. even the microwave once in a while. we bought a small rubbermaid plastic garden shed to house it. works great.

I bought this Inverter/Generator primarily to power a pellet stove in the case of a power outage. The pellet stove requires clean power in order to not enter auto shutoff mode, so I selected the iGen4500DF for this application. The generator started right up, is VERY quiet (in comparison to other generators I've heard), and the clean power runs my stove perfectly. So far this thing is great, and I can recommend it to those looking for such a unit.

This thing has so many useful features I'm hoping it will live up to my expectations. It's off to a shaky start, though. On the plus side, the operation is easy and straightforward. Love the electric start! Love that it has an RV electrical outlet as well as standard 120V outlets. Love the dual-fuel capability. I added gas and oil (more on that shortly), left the run switch off and pulled the starter cord a few times to make sure oil was circulated. Turned the switch to on, pushed START and voila, up and running. The operating manual cautions against running it with no load so I verified it was running smoothly then shut it off. Now for the not so good. I have to agree with other reviewers. Adding oil is a bit awkward. Not nearly as awkward as draining and changing it is going to be. More bad - my unit is leaking oil. At first the leak was fairly significant. I think one possibility for it is that there may have been some residual oil in the engine left over from factory testing. I followed the directions in the manual and added the whole container supplied with the unit and, since you can't actually see what's happening while you're adding the oil, it may have overflowed and that's where the dripping is coming from. The dripping has slowed (after about 20 hours) but it's still there. I'm going to give it another day to see if it stops before I contact tech support. Other than that, it seems to be an excellent product and well worth the money.

I've only used it one time so far, but performed excellent. I will say the manual is incorrect saying to add the entire bottle of oil, however had i read the quick start guide, it tells you to add the oil until its full. I guess ill blame overflowing the oil on myself for not reading everything first!! FYI, the entire bottle of oil will overfill the generator!!! After cleaning up the oil mess, I connected the propane and it fired up first try with the remote. I let it run for a few minutes, shut it down, and restarted, again first try. I then hooked up my RV and started turning things on. I had a 15000 btu air conditioner, residential refrigerator, two fans, one air purifier, and the inverter for 12 volt lighting all going with no problem. Decided to kick on the microwave just to see what it would do. It did run it, but maxed it out, so i turned it off. I am super impressed with this generator and all the features, and am hoping it has a long service life.

Would not start out of the Box. This is a closed frame unit. Had to disassemble to Plug in a wire for the automatic choke. This would be an easy fix at the factory .So that the customer would not have to do this. It is running good now. Would have rated higher if not for the choke problem

Just got it. Was careful to put correct amount of oil in as suggested by other reviewers. Attached to propane. Started right up. Very quite. Everything appears to be working perfectly. Sturdy construction. Will be happy if all keeps on functioning this well.

I've been waiting for this generator to become available again and I grabbed it soon as I saw one in stock on line. It's a perfect unit for my RV needs with the 30a output plug, remote control, propane fuel option and the ability to power an AC. I've hooked it up to my fifth wheel and the generator works great but I do have to shut off my internal surge protection. The Progressive doesn't seem to like the output but with stable inverter power it should be fine. It's a very quiet unit to so it should be campground friendly. One minor issue my digital display isn't working so I'll have to get a warranty repair for that, not what you'd like from a new unit so I'll have to give it 4 stars.

Spent several weeks researching for a dual fuel generator. Looking for quiet, battery charger capabilities, dual fuel, good warranty, 4500 watts and a fair price point! The iGen 4500DF arrived and read the owners manual, installed the oil, hooked up the battery and it cranked using the start button as well as the fob. Residing in Texas and remembering February 2021 week of no power; now prepared!! Thanks Westinghouse!

Just un boxed . GOOD :Easy setup comes w/ f funnel & oil to put in clear instructions. Started ridght up by push button & remote . Ran well on Propane though it seemed to pulse when not under load .However it did that in Gas mode also . Ran for about 3 hrs so far . Not GOOD: battery compartment cover missing .Propane fuel line supplied w/ regulator seems to short placeing tank to close to Gen . Remote works well though limited signal distance which could be improved . Oil fill made for tiny hands dipstick for fill to far back & hard to reach . Overall seems to be good came with 3 yr warranty . HF preditor same model same price only had 1 yr . will see in the coming weeks how well it powers 5th wheel trailer A/C unit .
