First Westinghouse Experience

First time purchase of Westinghouse generator. Have had other brands. This is first with dual fuel capability which is why I bought it. Working on breaking it in right now. Set up was super easy. Have not run propane yet but will once break in is completed. Looking forward to this being our solution to portable power with our camper.

iGen4500DF

Had less than a week so I have no long term usage yet. Very surprised at how quiet it is. Set up was very easy. Came with everything needed to get started. Battery was charged already. Added oil and started right up. So far it rarely goes above 50% power even with the ac on in my Rv. Low fuel consumption as well. Well laid out control panel. And the remote start is a nice extra

Easy to use and quiet!

I recently purchased this generator have have been very happy so far. The initial set up instructions and operating manual were both easy to understand and use. The generator started right up the first time. I am using propane fuel. We'll primarily be using the 30 amp capability with our 5th wheel. Excellent product. I highly recommend.

Awesome Product!!

I searched for several weeks to find the best inverter generator for our new camping adventures. I watched several YouTube video reviews and read several articles. This is the one I decided to purchase for our family. We just love the quiet operation. It's also easy for me to load and unload by myself. I could go on and on about all of the features that we love. I suggest that you don't wait any longer and purchase one today! See y'all at the campgrounds.

Works flawlessly!

This is the first generator I've ever used. I'll say that my expectations were blown away with the quality and functionality of it. Particularly the remote start and noise levels. I was expecting a "3rd time's the charm" for the remote start, knowing that its uncommon for generators. However, it started up within a matter of seconds without hesitation. As for the sound of it, it is much quieter than expected. Much quieter than a lawn mower, and that's not even with the Eco mode activated. with Eco mode its barely noticeable. Great product.

Nice Dual Fuel Generator

Not loud at all. No need to wear earmuffs when operate. Really like the remote control. All most comes with everything you would need to get it start except the fuel of course. Other thought, it would be nice if it also comes with Natural Gas kit or purchase separately.

So far So good

We have yet to fire it up, but all the pieces are there. No issues with parts that we can see. We bought this for our camper and home use if we loose power. This year we have lost power two different times while at a campground, so we are prepared now. Looking forward to the propane option.

iGen5000DFc is Quieter than my neighbor!

We bought this inverter generator because we have no more faith in Centerpoint Energy's ability to distribute power reliably to homes in Houston. Followed the easy to understand instructions and it started right up! The generator is much quieter than my neighbors generator and it seems to be much more efficient. Not hoping to need it soon but feeling alot more comfortable if the power should go out.

Remote start/stop a must

I was pleased to see that the generator came with a remote start. I had to request another FOB because the one that came with the generator would only start it, it would not turn it off. It is not as powerful as I had hoped, but I believe it will work.

Nice hardware; poor manual.

Step 2 in the manual after connecting the battery is add the oil provided. The whole bottle. And what happens? A lot of it runs out of the generator all over my driveway because it didn't need the whole bottle. Then we have a features page in the manual which doesn't come close to matching the location of the features on the generator. And the instructions for paralleling inverter operation fail to state that if the generator has two black inputs (rather than 1 black and 1 red like the cable), then color coding on the cable doesn't matter. One can stumble into that information by going on-line by looking at pictures associated with the cable. The generator started up nicely using propane after pressing the on/off button and again very nicely using the remote. I didn't fire it up with gasoline yet, but when I do the gas will NOT contain any ethanol. I plugged the generator into a 50 amp power inlet box located outside by the main breaker (using the parallel cable and a 30 ft 50 amp generator cable after taking the central air and hot water heater off line and the results were very good. Had several computers and printers running, TV, refrigerator, microwave, a bunch of lights, and use of the garage door. I bought a second IGEN 4500 (gas unit as the DF units are sold within hours of receipt it seems) to use for parallel use with the DF unit. Haven't taken that unit out of box yet. I won't be able to use central air even running two units in parallel, but I will be able to run a wall rattler AC and perhaps use a burner on the stove if I manage other items carefully when a stove burner is on. The generator is very very quiet. The hardware is great; so what's the reason why the manual can't be good?
