Did not last long

i purchased this tv to replace a tcl that had gone bad after several years of service. this tv provided a better picture and decent streaming functionality however apps like hulu would sometimes fail to launch or work at all. after owning this tv for just 7 months it broke. it is stuck in a boot cycle where you can see it turn on, then the backlight goes to full brightness and then the tv turns itself off again and just repeats this cycle.

The best bang for your buck

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had the Television for quite some time, it has amazing crisp colors and definition. I've Installed different streaming apps and all but one work effortlessly. The mounting process was fast and had no issues. All the ports in the back are perfectly angled for a wall mount on your big living room. Controler is universal with all TV of its series, easy to use and compact.

Overall it's fine for an inexpensive TV

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I hadn't bought a new TV in several years, and I went with a top brand, but a discounted price. In retrospect... I might have made a different choice. But overall - it's fine. It's a decent enough TV . The 2 main issues I have with it are: It's dark. Like really dark. Watching any dark/night scenes and I can't make out many details. I've turned the brightness WAY up and turn all the lights off in the room shut all the blinds etc, and it's still difficult to make out what's happening. So I mostly watch shows with dark/action scenes in the evenings, because in the daytime I might as well be looking at a black screen with some audio. The other thing is small, and odd. It turns itself on. Not all the time, but often enough that it's annoying. I'll turn it off at the end of the day - go into the next room and hear it come on. It's baffling!

Hi Sher71, Thank you for your purchase and your feedback on the Samsung TU7000 TV. Please know we are here to help you and have a few troubleshooting tips that may resolve your issues. First, if the colors on your TV are correct but just a little too dark or bright, you can try adjusting Picture Modes, Contrast, Brightness, or Sharpness settings. I recommend using Dynamic Picture Mode, which makes pictures brighter and clearer in bright viewing environments. Go to Settings > Picture > Picture Mode > Dynamic. Or you can manually adjust the Brightness, Contrast, and more. Press the HOME button on your remote, then navigate to Settings > Picture > Expert Settings. You may also want to disable Power Saving Mode, which automatically adjusts the brightness to reduce the TV’s power consumption. Go to Settings > General > Eco Solution> Power Saving Mode. Ambient Light Detection will also automatically adjust the brightness level of the TV according to the ambient light level to reduce power consumption. If Ambient Light Detection has adjusted the screen brightness to a too bright or dark level, you can select Minimum Brightness to manually adjust the minimum screen brightness. Go to Settings > General > Eco Solution > Ambient Light Detection. Now, if your TV is turning itself on, there are a few steps that I would like you to go through to ensure they are not the cause. 1. Unplug the TV from the wall outlet or surge protector and leave it unplugged for 30 seconds. 2. Check the power cord to see if there is any visible damage. 3. Plug the TV power cord back into the wall outlet. If you were using a surge protector, bypass it for now and use a wall outlet. 4. Try to update the software. In some cases, a software update can correct the problem. There is a risk, however. If the TV turns off during the software update, it could damage the TV. Updates can take up to 30 minutes, depending on network speed, so if the TV is not turning off too frequently, try updating the software. 5. Disable the Power On with the Mobile option. TVs that can connect to SmartThings can be turned on using compatible devices, sometimes automatically. However, if abnormal "power on" signals are sent through the wireless network, they will trigger this function and make the TV turn on. If you do not want this function, navigate to Settings > General > Network > Expert Settings > Power On with Mobile, and turn the setting off. Finally, if you are using the device through HDMI, it could cause the auto-on, as Anynet+ is enabled. Occasionally connected devices such as game consoles (PS5, Xbox) or cable set-top boxes send a turn-on signal, for example, if they have software updates. We recommend you try turning Anynet+ off as it may be causing auto power on. Go to Settings > General > External Device Manager > Anynet+, then disable. If you need more help, Samsung is here for you. Please call us at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8 AM - 12 AM EST, seven days a week. Our LiveChat agents are also available by clicking on the ‘Support’ link on our website. ~ Samsung Advisor

Good and Bad

Overall happy but needed a wider stand to put the TV on due to the distance between the legs. My previous set had a center mounting stand that was stable. This set has only 2 HDMI inputs which is a shortfall. Also, no Bluetooth capabilities with out purchasing a separate system. Good picture, but less than adequate volume from the cable system. Only a 1 year warranty that was less than most competition.

Fine TV, Lousy Remote

tv has met expectation aside form the occasional network communication issue a poorly designed remote. every one has different preferences but it feels like this remote was designed to put the least used buttons at your fingertips and the most used out of the way. often need to turn on the light to use. antithesis of intuitive...

This TV model has great features

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use this Samsung TV primarily for movies. One cool smart feature I enjoy is connection to Netflix. The sound and picture quality are great. I have this connected to a Samsung sound bar which brings out the real Cinema experience.

I should've bought an LG

very disappointing product. was very difficult to download any apps because of many unnecessary steps including signing in on a 'samsung account' on another device and verifying account. after the lengthy process that was, the "smart tv" is completely unable to download multiple apps including hbo max, espn, discover+, and many others. would not recommend to a friend, or anyone.

Over all great product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This tv is amazing for a 1st time buyer. Size is great for a bigger living room wall. Color is good for a wide range of movies and tv shows. I am not 100% satisfied with the look of the darker colors. I can really see the pixels which black scenes. It makes me think I should have went with and QLED TV. In just did not want to sacrifice too much size when balancing the price, and quality. I believe over all I made a great purchase and it is an overall great product. 8.5/10
