Avoid at all costs -

We initially purchased this espresso machine during the 2022 Black Friday sale. We received it a few days later and it worked perfectly for less than 24 hours. Per the instructions, I called DeLonghi for tech support. The call went well but they were unable to fix the issue so they told me they would send a replacement. The problem was that the infuser was stuck in an upright position and would not move. After 2 weeks and multiple calls to support, the replacement was still not shipped. I wound up purchasing a new machine at full price and returning the faulty machine using that receipt. Dealing with DeLonghi support was a miserable experience. Each time I called, they promised to escalate the shipping of the replacement and each time they promised follow-up and emails (which never arrived). Fast forward 5 weeks and the machine stopped working. It seems that there is a problem with the infuser on this new machine and they are unable to repair remotely. I called support and again, it was miserable. They explained that I was out of the 30-day warranty period and that I would have to go through the repair process. They said that the repair department would contact me in 3-5 days and that I would have to ship it in for repairs. I can only imagine how long that is going to take but I am glad that I didn’t toss my old coffee maker because I imagine it will be weeks. When working, this machine makes wonderful coffee. I fell in love with it after a few days. I would honestly give it a glowing 5 star review if two separate machines had not broken in less than a month. I may just return it to Sam’s and look for another espresso maker not made by DeLonghi. For the price, I expected so much more.

EXCELLENT ESPRESSO MACHINE!!

I’ve had this exact machine for so long I can’t remember how long it’s been. It’s on its last leg, slightly leaking, some other issues, so I ordered this exact duplicate to wait. I LOVE this machine. I spoil myself with automatic espresso, ground exactly like I want it, served like I want it, when I want it, fresh, every cup!

Leaking Machine and no customer support

My De'Longhi Magnifica leaked about a cup of water each time it was used so I e-mailed De'Longhi customer service for help to correct the problem. Their website indicated a response could take up to 5 working day. After waiting 10 days, I gave up and returned the coffee maker for a full refund. I no longer have confidence in De'Longhi products and will purchase another brand coffee maker.

Good coffee but cranky machine

We have had this machine a little over a month. I gave it three stars because it CAN make good coffee, and we love being able to froth milk and make "fancy coffees." The temperature is nice and hot, and the option to heat the mug with hot water is nice. However, for $800, the machine should know when it's low enough on water that it can't complete the requested action. Even a cheap Keurig won't start a cup of coffee if there isn't enough water in the well to do so. We have wasted A LOT of beans/cups of coffee because of this. It will start making a cup, and then just stop midway, leaving you with an unfinished coffee that tastes awful. It grinds the beans and gets started just fine, then stops midway and flashes the low water indicator, causing you to have to dump the coffee, add water, and start over. The solution to this is to just fill the reservoir every time we need coffee, but that is tedious. I can't fathom that our piece of crap Keurig is smarter than this machine. The worst feature of this machine is that it will scald you if the water completely runs out. We have already had to descale it once. We followed all the directions in the manual. Then after restarting it, we tried to use the cup warmer, and the machine made a TERRIBLE noise until it started spitting droplets of hot water everywhere. (The spout is clean, it's not clogged.) The reason for my review is that, just now, the coffee maker stopped midway AGAIN, even though it sure appeared there was enough water in the reservoir to make a measly 2/3 cup of coffee. I rinsed out the reservoir to make sure the water level indicator was functioning and floating as it should, then when I tried to use the cup warmer, I was again treated to the machine making an unholy racket and no water coming out. After about 20 seconds, it started spraying droplets of scalding water, which feels just swell when they hit the tender skin between your fingers. It's a nice slim size and a sleek-looking machine that will make a decent cup of espresso and froth milk perfectly, but that's only when it feels like playing nice. Overall, this machine is just average, and three stars may be being generous at this point.

Now I like the machine!

Maybe unusual, but one slow brewing problem solved: The machine worked ok for a few cups then the coffee was dispensed too slow; drip, drip, drip. After plenty of frustration, trouble shooting, wasted coffee and cleanings, I finally found the problem; - a simple factory assembly error. Believe it or not; the infuser had been assembled with TWO metal filter screens stacked together!!! I removed one of the screens; problem solved. The machine now works just fine.
