This fan can move a lot of air but is only “quiet” on settings 1 & 2. Of course, that is where it is used in the bedroom at night. However, the fan started making vibrating noise after running for a while. I felt it probably is due to my not having tightened everything enough when putting it together. I was cautious because everything was plastic and I didn’t want to strip anything or break anything. The fan motor and electronics are enclosed in a one piece unit that attaches to the base. Maybe there is some metal inside but everything else, base, pole, blades and fan guards are plastic as are the parts used to screw them on and hold them together. I’m not sure if a $50 price tag is appropriate for this fan and I don’t believe it will provide the longevity I expected from a Lasko fan.

The fan is very soft at low speeds but it gradually increases to disturbing volumes as it goes faster. It is expected since its the inherent design of the fan blades. The fan is designed to not go more than 90 degrees in that it does not allow you to point it more towards at an angle towards the floor. If you drop it to the lowest level, you could be lucky to get some direct wind if your sofa/chair/bed is at least parallel with the fan. The remote is very useful, giving you fool control of almost all the features of the fan ( cannot control the fan's tilt )

I love how quiet this fan could be. It was great to have on at night while sleeping. It worked really good until it stopped. We only had this fan for a week. We had it on for a few minutes then turned it off to move it, and it wouldn’t turn back on. We tried for a while to get it to work. I finally gave up and returned it to the store. I was really sad this only lasted a week. I was afraid to buy another one for fear it would do the same thing.

It doesn’t properly air flow and it doest go up or down ..
