All plastic

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Not impressed with the fact that the whole entire thing is plastic , when it gets time to clean it it’s going to be extremely hard without a high pressure washer which I don’t have, I have a white one exactly like this and the cage is made of metal , one time this rips over and I’m sure it will break?

No tools needed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This fan was so easy to assemble, I was totally shocked and surprised. I don't think it took 5 mins to put together. All the parts are either put together with a simple twisting motion, no tools needed. Once together it blows extremely cold. But what's so extra cool about the fan is that it can be programmed. Amazing... Just sad it didn't come with batteries for the remote.

Definitely Recommend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Lasko Ocillating fan in black moves an impressive amount of air and cools a large area, even with its high energy efficiency. I use it on medium speed primarily and it doesn't make a lot of noise despite its pretty high output. The remote works well and is very convenient. The fan is set upon a wide base which helps with stability. The telescoping stem is made of metal but the rest of the fan is made of durable plastic. The whole fan is light enough to move from room to room but seems durable enough that it will last. It seems to be a good value with all that it has to offer.

Powerful but poor tilt design

The fan is powerful and the remote is very nice to have. But I am dissatisfied with the tilt of the fan. Even at the lowest tilt setting, it's still facing slightly upwards. It will not tilt to blow straight on, let alone down. It only tilts way up, which makes little sense.

Quiet at Low Speeds

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Lasko pedestal stand came well packaged. It was super easy to assemble – no tools required – as everything just either screws in or snaps in place. With its wide base the fan is reasonably stable, the motor is quiet, and the fan blades are quiet mainly on lower speeds. The fan can be operated manually or by remote – but the remote works only from the front of the fan. There is a clip on the back of the fan to store the remote, so it won’t get misplaced.

Paid for itself in reduced energy costs.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My electric bill doubled since last year so I had to cut back on air conditioning use during the hot months. I knew that a light breeze can provide comfortable cooling with indoor temperatures in the mid 70s. The Lasko Oscillating 18-inch fan has worked wonders for my indoor comfort while sharply reducing the electric bill. Lasko starts with an innovative DC brushless motor that uses 50% less electricity than my old AC fan. The super efficient DC motor is similar to those used in expensive battery powered drills. It puts out a lot of power while using very little electricity. The energy sipping DC motor is matched to sophisticated electronics that provide 12 fan speeds, a 1 to 12 hour timed shutoff switch, 60 degree head oscillation and a convenient remote control. Additionally the fan has a unique "blue plug" that contains a safety device that automatically shuts the fan off in case of a motor malfunction or short circuit. I use the Lasko fan in my home office. The oscillating head efficiently can move up to 1800 cubic feet of air per minute around the room! I set it in the intermediate speed range for day use. That keeps a soft breeze moving and allows me to work comfortably while keeping the AC set to 75 degrees. The Lasko fan is quiet and allows me to easily conduct in-person or phone conversations. A medium speed and oscillation moves air gently; paperwork stays in place. The Lasko Oscillating Pedestal fan design and construction is excellent. A stiff, steel center support allows the fan to be raised or lowered up to 10 inches; 42 to 52 inches. Heavy-duty plastic is used for the five blades, two covers, motor housing and pedestal. The plastic is tough and easy to keep clean. Assembly was quick, simple and did not require any tools. The fan is surprisingly light at just eight pounds and can be easily carried around the house. The lower speeds, remote control and timed shut-off would be ideal for the bedroom and nighttime use. I may get a second one for the bedroom. The Lasko fan has paid for itself in reduced air conditioning costs. I expect it will last for many years. Another superb product from a well respected company and industry leader.

Versatile and Easy to Operate

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The fan measures 18" across the cage that contains the blades. I got it assembled pretty quickly without tools. Both the cage and base are plastic. The fan is well balanced because the base is about 21" across. The various parts turn in place without screws. I carried it around the house and it held together. The pole is metal. I can adjust the fan almost vertically if I don't want it directly on my face. It clicks into position. It oscillates around 180 degrees. On its lowest speeds (1 - 3) it doesn't make any noise and I can feel the gentle breeze 12 ft away. Running it on its highest speeds (10 - 12) makes a strong sound. It's actually the blades I'm hearing because the DC motor makes no noise on any setting. I can fall asleep with the fan going and set it to turn off some time later. There's a dial on the front of the motor to turn to the various settings. The setting is illuminated. The remote has full functionality.

Nice Fan

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a nice fan, it's really big. The base isn’t that big but the fan part is. It'll actually be nice for inside or out. And in the shop in out hot Texas weather. I'll probably put it on the porch formy dog, keep him cooler. It's a good one.

Crappy assembly instructions!

Seems to work fine but the WORST assembly instructions ever. If the drawing was bigger it would have been a lot easier to figure out. I am not challenged when it comes to assembling thing but I like clear instructions, not the equivalent of a stick figure that is 2" tall.

Super Convenient

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have two Lasko brand fans already so I know they are long-lasting and dependable., This one though has a remote control. I use it in my bedroom and when I want the settings changed in the middle of the night I don't have to get out of bed and walk across the room. I just pick up the remote from my bedside table and point it at the fan and turn it down or even off when I no longer need it. Greatly appreciated!
