The wood is very soft and cheap. After having it for only 4 months and only 2 kids playing on it, the bolts are backing out and the wood is cracking on the tower. We have had to re-tighten the bolts in many places 4 times in the 4 months. The whole thing twists when my 50 lb son swings. I don't feel safe with my children on this playset. I am VERY disappointed with the quality and safety of this product for such a large purchase!

Pros: It looks great and we have had many compliments on it. The kids love it. Cons: I doubt it will last more than a year and I’m starting to worry it will fail while the kids are on it. It is extremely rickety and just seems to be poorly designed from a structural standpoint. My kids are average sized 6 and 4 year olds and when they’re both swinging the entire fort section of the set twists and sways several inches at a time and it seems to be getting worse. The main beam that the swings hang from is cracking and splitting in several places. The wood is so soft that the locking nuts eat right into it which seems to cause the bolts to loosen. We’ve had this up for 3 months and I’ve had to retighten the swing assemblies 3 times because they were visibly coming loose. Oh and the deck boards are very thin. I’m not sure if I’m more annoyed with how much we spent on it or how much time I sunk into assembling it for it to turn out the way it did.

It came April 1st. But we just finished last tuesday but the next day it fell dawn, because the wind is too strong, where we lived in Fort Morgan colorado. We put all the black stakes, but they did not hold anything.. Rig now the entire swing set is wiggle even when just my daugther is swinging...not satisfied too expensive for too poor material...I took photos to prove all that I'm describing..

We picked this up a week ago and payed someone $600 to build it for us yesterday. It took him from 8 AM-8PM doing it by himself (this was the 3rd or 4th Mystic Tower that he built and he’s also built many more Backyard Discovery play sets). It looks gorgeous and the wood smells so good. Our toddler loves it so far! The door opens and closes smoothly. It all feels pretty sturdy as well. Cons- The slide is very obnoxious with the wavy feature though. It’s too bumpy. Another huge complaint we have is that the internal area next to the wheel that kids can climb up or down, is very dangerous for small children. Our son can easily fall down the shaft/opening and get seriously injured. I tried to call BD and request something to cover that area up and not only was the representative rude and had a snarky tone, she told us there was nothing BD could do. So I guess we’ll go drop more money to board that section up until our son is older. Not happy about that. Pickup from Sam’s was easy peezy. The loaders at the Austin Lakeline location were friendly and helpful. Glad we got this before it went out of stock!! *Circled area in photo is where the safety concern is that we have. The fall would be about a 5-6 foot drop.

I have five large boxes and a plastic slide that have been sitting in my garage for 15 days. We paid $1000 dollars for a professional install. They scheduled the install for today never showed up or called. The third party company takes anywhere from 1-3 days to respond to messages. Trying to get Sams to refund my installation so that I can hire someone on my own has been very frustrating. Hopefuly its a nice set, but currently its just an eyesore in my garage teasing two small boys who are waiting anxiously for it to be built.

I got this one for my girl. Took time to put together but directions was SPOT on. Every hole was pre drilled and fit. Every bolt nut and screw was numbered and fit. I’m very happy with it and darn glad I spent the money for it. And my little girl not old enough to tell me but her actions sure shows my she loves it. Mentioning the pickett tool on the step it is needed would be helpful. Didnt realize it existed because it was in a box of parts we didnt need at that step and hadnt unpacked it. Also, would be nice to have some sort of railing or netting in the tower. My kid immediately tried to climb onto the roof from the tower section. Sinking in the augers was a pain. Would love to have recommendations to make that process easier. Overall, great playset. My kiddo absolutely loves it. Haven't been able to keep him off of it.

Completed in 23hrs, by myself. I was a little hesitant getting into this project as there were multiple reviews out there about the complexity of the build. The pieces were shipped in a five parcel drop off. I was able to store them in the garage until I could find a weekend to put this together. I downloaded the "Bilt" app and reviewed instructions prior to starting. An important note to follow was organization of the material. This was key when it came time to build, it allowed me to spend less time searching for pieces and more time constructing. Once all the pieces were organized I found it easier for myself to follow the printed instruction booklet and reference the Bilt app when I needed to "pinch and zoom" on certain pieces. The booklet is printed in black and white and the app allows you to see all the colors, this was helpful in discerning material. in this fashion, and working completely alone, it took me two full days to construct. (Day 1, 9a-8p. Day 2, 9a-9p) 23hrs. You begin the build by constructing the door, the ladder then the rock wall. It then has you move on to start the swing set, then construction of the fort base. At the beginning of day two I was ready to lay down flooring of the completed base. Don't be alarmed, you will end up with multiple bags of partial unused hardware. This caused me hesitation in my build but I want everyone to know it is expected. All the pieces fit together really well, pilot holes lined up, and no pieces were broken. The wood is mostly pine with the roof material being cedar. Every now and then, you would get a knotty piece, I was able to work around it as needed. You finish the build with accessories and finally the swings. Hideout Tower is impressively tall, 12ft. My kids will really enjoy this for years to come.

I bought this for my grandbabies and when it was assembled the first level split we put wood glue and proceeded and thought maybe human error. Then the ladder did not touch the ground, my last straw was when they connected the swings and he got on and the beam split. I had to pay someone to put it together I am not paying to have it disassembled. But I did request for them to come and get it. Neither I or my 73 yr old mom are capable of taking ir apart.
