I love this shredder. I had one for a long while and the ease of use and the ease of emptying the bin are amazing features. Recently, I made the mistake of putting a heavy duty credit card in the shredder and it jammed because the credit card had metal integrated in it. BEWARE. There is absolutely no way to unjam this so be careful what you try to shred. Credit card shredding should be for plastic only. However, I went out and bought the same shredder for a second time. I love it that much. Reasonably priced, great shredding and highly efficient and quiet. I only gave this a rating of 4 because there is no way to unjam this unit.

Bought about a year ago, is used very lightly. After about 4 months the plastic guard over the feeder slot broke when I put 6 sheets to shred. Had it about 6 months then it began to slow down, at 8 months it runs all the time even with no paper in it. Sorry to say but just junk and very expensive when considering it started breaking at 4 months with light use. Now runs all the time so have to turn it off.

Worked as expected, shredded about 2-3 bins full over the course of 10 months. I usually keep it powered off, only powering on when I needed to shred something, once or twice a week. One day I went to turn it on and it didn't power on. I moved it to another outlet, but still no power. It's within the warranty period, but I threw out the carton and packing materials long ago.

Purchased this shredder within the past year, use it for mail (credit offers) and items with account numbers, etc. Probably gets used once or twice a week. After about 9 mos, the shredder started “pulsing.” We thought the motor was like too hot, so we left it sit for an hour. Started it back up and it continued to pulse. After some research, found this is a common problem with this shredder. The only fix is to locate the cooling fan and disconnect it. I know this is a cheap, low-end shredder, but I was hoping it would last longer than a few months.

This product now only shreds a second then stops, then shreds another second then stops until the paper goes all the way through. It seems this may be a negative aspect of this paper shredder. Would recommend checking out other brands before purchasing this one.

It worked perfectly during the initial few uses, but now it has started pulsing. I’m unsure whether it’s a motor or sensor issue, but others appear to have experienced the same problem. Unfortunately, since we don't need to shred stuff very often, it’s past the 90-day return window.

This thing was a beast when it worked, which was only on two occasions. Had it powered down and unplugged for a while and when I plugged it back in to use it again, it would only work intermittently. I wish I had read reviews before purchasing, but saw it in the store and just bought it.

I bought the shredder about three months or so ago. I may shred things twice a week and it’s not a lot each time. I even use the lubrication sheets periodically for maintenance. All of a sudden this thing started doing a start and stop shred repeatedly until the sheet of paper is gone. I have turned it off turned it back on unplugged it, everything but nothing helps. It is a lower priced shredder but I would have thought it would’ve lasted a lot longer than three months.

My Members Mark C249-A Shredder is pulsing instead of smoothly shredding paper with a continuous run. There are several other customer complaints about this issue including a video of the problem. This shredder was purchased April 13, 2021 and I understand it is out of the 1 year warranty period. I was hoping to get some satisfaction from my local Sam's (Toledo, OH) but the lady who waited one me said the "100% Satisfaction Guarantee and can be returned at any time" Sam's Warranty, did not apply, even though it was on the screen behind her. I have tried cleaning and lubricating the shredder, but that made no difference. I am what I would describe as a light user of the shredder. Needless to say I am very disappointed in the shredder and the service received from my Toledo, OH Sam's.

Got this last year and used occasionally without any problem. After a few months, it won’t run continuously anymore, on one second then stop then one second work and stop again like it is tired or something. I am not sure how to fix it, it would take forever for me to shred what I need to shred
