I bought this shredder on Jan 27, 2022. It lasted 7 months before failing. Like numerous other reviews, it starts to pulse and doesn't shred properly. Resetting it, lubricating it, disconnecting power - nothing works. It worked fine and then one day, just stopped. It is used in a home and has never been overworked. Seems like it is poor design from Members Mark. Obviously, the 90 day window has passed and I am out of luck for a refund or another product. Will NOT be purchasing anything like this from Sams again. Very, very disappointed in this product.

We bought this shredder just over a year ago to finally upgrade from our previous shredder which we'd had for about 10 years and had some cracks on the top, but still worked. I liked the pull out design for emptying the bin and that functioned well. At first this seemed to be a good shredder, but I'm not typically a heavy user, just some junk mail here and there and a few other docs as I clean out old files annually. Well, in December when I went to shred some papers it began pulsating and not running everything through at once. I've never maxed out the number of papers or even used it all that much so I was confused why it would be acting up. I let it go and unplugged it hoping for a reset then went to use it again a few days ago and the same thing. Sadly, when I finally checked we're just out of the warranty period (mid-January). I'd already given our old reliable shredder away so I guess I'll have to get a new one since this one won't work properly.

I would highly recommend this shredder for paper. I would not recommend shredding CDs using this shredder. When CDs go through the blades it shoots out tiny pieces that scatter on the floor. The tiny pieces are very sharp and can cut up your feet pretty bad. I got a paper cut and another piece embedded in my foot I had to pull out. The furthest piece I found was about 12 feet from my shredder so even when I thought I had cleaned everything up, there were pieces hidden in a rug 12 feet away. Won’t be using this again for shredding CDs as it’s not worth compromising my safety. I have had this shredder for over a year and love using it for paper.

I was really loving this paper shredder and then all of a sudden it only shreds in 1 or 2 second bursts (and I usually have to hold the forward button to get it to finish). This isn't a matter of it getting too warm and stopping to protect itself, it does it all the time now. I've tried oil. I've cleaned the sensors. Unplugged it and plugged it back in. Nothing helps. I've had it less than a year and it isn't a unit that gets overused.

I purchased this shredder about a year ago and soon after the shredder began to pulse, but as soon as this started is stopped and was working great until a week age. The shredder began to pulse again and there was nothing I could do to make it stop. It is almost unusable. I would NOT recommend this shredder for that very reason.

Unit began to surge when putting paper in it. A better word is PULSATE. It failed outside the warranty window. It wasn't used very hard. I've owned it for seven months. I foiund a YouTube video on clipping some wires. It works for now. I don't trust the long term fix. I don't think this unit if durable.

It was great when I got it a few months ago. Now, it starts and stops and starts and stops with every sheet I feed in... and it smells hot. I wish I could find the receipt so I could take it back. Buy at your own risk! This is now the second shredder I've had in two years. Before that, I had one that lasted 10 years.

lasted 2 months with regular household mail shredding. teeth jammed with paper only--i typically shred 1 sheet at a time. bought in August 2021. it is now Oct 30 2021 & it's broke. tried cleaning out the teeth with a brush. plugged back in & turned it on & nothing. no power, no nothing. complete garbage & waste of money.

This shredder is horrible. If you place more than 5 sheets of normal paper in it then it gets jammed, claims it can do up to 12 sheets at a time. Paper tends to wrap around the shredding blades and then you have to pull it out by hand, trying not to cut your hands. Spend the extra money and get something decent.

I purchased one of these in Feb 2021 and it only lasted until November under very light use. It was replaced under warranty and now that replacement has only lasted until today, June 2022. I will be returning it once again. I don't know what causes the problem, but the shredder will suddenly stop taking in paper smoothly and begin taking in paper in pulses. Thorough cleanings of both the paper sensor and the interior blades makes no difference.
