Works great

We purchased this shredder in August 2022 for Lite home use and it already failed. The shredder pulsate shreds as others reviewers have noted. The last shredder we had lasted at least 15 years before we replaced with it this one last year. Very disappointed in the product quality especially with what appears to be a well known documented malfunction. I really expected better results from a Member's Mark product.

Great use of my money!

Very good

I used the shredder for 10 months and then started pulsing for few seconds after I turn on & started shredding. After a month it is always pulsing to shred. I thought it is a defective one, turned off the power and tried to clean the sensor located in the center of the feeder (near the CD symbol) with a slightly wet swab on both sides. Then turned on the power and the shredder started working normally.

The instruction manual does not mention oiling the blades, but after running the shredder for one day, it became clear oil is needed: the sound grew louder and there was a burning smell. Searching the questions, I find that in June 2021 Member's Mark Support posted instructions: put a line of shredder oil on a sheet of paper and feed it through. I put a line of oil back and forth from top to bottom of two sheets, and the shredder is running much better now.

Very nice shredder

I bought this product about 5 days ago, I had three garbage bags of papers I had been saving to take to ups store. Needless to say they wanted a dollar a pound to shred, so I bought this machine instead and decided to do it myself. my h usband and I spent hours shredding and the maching never over heated, took up to about 10 pieces of paper easily, even credit cards, staples in paper never jammed. I had about ninety pounds of paper, and this machine never skipped a beat. great product
