Good beans

•1 cup of dry beans •4 cups of water to soak beans over night on kitchen counter •1 tsp baking soda (optional) •4 cups additional water to cook beans •1 tsp salt •1 clove of garlic chopped or sliced •2 TBSP avacado oil or olive oil -After soaking beans overnight, drain and rinse beans. Place beans in a heavy pot with 4 cups of additional water, garlic, oil, and salt. Cook on high heat bringing to a boil. Boil uncovered on medium high heat 45 minutes.  Stir beans and cover pot with lid reducing heat to a low simmer for 25 minutes.  Check and stir beans if needed. Add a bit of water if necessary. If you want beans to be "refried" turn heat to high again and cook down liquid, stir frequently. When desired consistency is reached smash beans with the back of a spoon or keep whole.

I love cooking these in my insta pot for chili.

This bag was mostly old , dark beans with very few newer beans. Usually these beans are not so old. Your supplier is filling bags with old beans.

Member's Mark Pinto Bean 12lbs. -Beans in the bag seem to be too old and not clean. Too many look aged and broken. They cook unevenly.

These are the worst pinto beans I’ve ever purchased. They have a moldy smell when kept in an air tight container and have so many dirty particles. Unless I just received an old bag? Idk. I’m confused because of all the positive reviews.
