The tablets are a lot smaller than my usual BC (photo for comparison) which makes it easier to swallow. However, I also have PMDD so while on this my depression, anxiety, and mood swings skyrocketed during the week before and the week of my period and my cravings were crazy too (which could also be other factors). My cycle was very inconsistent (most likely due to a different hormone ingredient making changing my cycle it would be late a few days than normal.

I actually ordered this for one of my grandson's girlfriend. I do not know that they are having sex. It is not my business. But the girl's mother will not agree to this type of healthcare for her daughter. It is rather against my ethics to do so, but weighing a possible pregnancy and the subsequent consequences against supplying her with opill was a no-brainer. Both of these bright young people are headed for college and have a bright future ahead of them. A young pregnancy simply is not in the cards.

As a young mother myself, had I been presented with options for OTC birth control I probably would not have been a teen Mom. Now to my experience with the pills, I did not get pregnant so thats a +++ lol, and they did not increase my appetite like other forms of BC have, so in turn I did not gain any weight while taking these. They did not make feel nauseous or moody so my DH enjoyed that. I think that offering OTC BC is a game changer for young women who don't have access to health insurance, who don't want to go to a free clinic in fear of being recognized or shamed, or understanding parents.

So for frightening effect I’ll reduce rating but after first week everything was fine.

The first few weeks were the hardest — I had some spotting, mild nausea, and sore boobs, but it wasn’t terrible and it faded after the first month. My periods are lighter now and sometimes a bit unpredictable, but I don’t get the bad cramps I used to. Day-to-day, I feel normal on it. The only thing that stresses me out is having to take it at almost the exact same time every day — the timing window is really strict. Overall: once my body adjusted, Opill became easy and low-maintenance without insurance and it works well for me as long as I stay consistent with the timing.

It is so easy to pop out of the packet, a small pill to swallow, and easy for me to throw in my purse! Its a low dose so it keeps my period regular and i have no noticed many side effects that typically come with birth control.
