I’m not sure how good or bad the system is, I’m unable to set up an account using the recommended app. I can put all of my info in, but the continue button does not do a thing. I can’t set up an account, and I can’t go forward. I guess Monday I’ll have to call at lunchtime

I have only had this installed and running for a few days. One camera is on a back corner of a city lot and has good signal to the NRV in the front center of the house. I have been getting f fair amount of recordings that have nothing on them, better that than missing something. The events recorded on the NRV are different than the ones you see on the app. I did have a few problems with the set up. Some of the issues were me and some was the system. Customer Service was excellent when called. I don’t think much of the live text. Mike

Bought and have used for a week, has great video quality and awesome quality night vision. The only complaint I would have is that takes a while on the app to load live feed and look at past events. Never longer than a minute, but just enough to annoy you.

I ordered the night owl doorbell to add to my night owl IP camera NVR system. The setup was super fast and easy. It integrates with the existing setup and Night Owl Protect app with no issues. However, the video doorbell was recording to my iPhone and not the NVR. I had added the doorbell as a new device at the same place in the protect app where the NVR was added. One I realized it wasn’t part of the NVR system, I removed the doorbell from the protect app, reset the doorbell to factory settings and did the setup again, but added the doorbell from within the NVR device screen. Videos were now recording to the NVR with full NVR settings available for all camera devices which included the doorbell. My only issue so far is with the audio recording. I can’t make out any audible voices on the recordings. The sounds are very very faint. This could be better. Also, the doorbell didn’t ship with any hard copy paper manuals. I like to have paper manuals as well in case I am not near a computer or phone.

I've only had both cameras for about 2 weeks now, but they are working well. I have both at a corner location of my garage and the receiver is about 100 ft away. I purchase the external charger with extra batteries so I just have to swap them out as needed.

We upgraded our system from an older Night Owl DVR and cameras. The picture clarity and the ease of the software to make it mobile viewable was so much better than our old system. I was told that the old cameras and cables were not compatible but they actually were, which made it much easier to install because I didn't have to pull wires except for the cameras I added.

It fulfills it purpose of being a completely wire free camera that you can place anywhere within the range of the wireless recorder. Good features and sensitivity, and the ability to "Speak" through the Camera speaker and "Listen" using the Mobile Application. One Caveat though is that while they say "Up to 6months of Battery life" that must have been in an empty room with zero "Triggers" on the camera, since I have this configure to only trigger on "Human" and "Face" and with 10-12 Triggers per day, the batteries only last 2 weeks before needing a recharge. However, knowing that was likely, I also bought the wall charger that comes with a spare set of batteries so that you can just swap the dead ones with the fresh ones and put the others back on the charger for the next time.

Best part of the camera, it's simple. Nothing complicated to do other than putting the batteries in an mounting it where you want. The whole system was really easy to put together and make everything work. I suggest put all the cameras and base together on your tv hdmi connection and router your network is on.This way you can insure everything works, pairs, adjusts, records, and scare people who don't know you have it on and hidden. The only thing I don't like, it's not 4k like the ones with my NVR. Didn't think I would complain about HD camera resolution, but 4k is blow'n 1080p away. Once you get everything paired, and it all works doing the items like brightness, recording, activating by movement, points where it should, then wait a day before using the cameras in the location you've picked.. . You can install and run the app while the system is connected to the tv. And let it run for 24 hours, for a on test to see what happens to everything before mounting it. Once the app is installed, and the phone is going to be used for controlling the system, you will have to reboot the box, for it to have the phone as primary controller. I put my cameras on a 2-3' wide board 10-12 inches long. This lets you aim the camera when holding the phone and aiming the camera for the best coverage.. Leave the cameras in place an go look using the tv. I did this with one screw holding the board to temp mount it. after watching it for hours, 3 of the 4 were moved several feet. Don't forget the power supply can't be left out in the weather, so get a 12v power cord that can reach it and tape up the connections. Put all your cables under cover to stay dry, then use a power strip or 2-6 way plug adapter. It was harder to place the 4k cameras than the add on. It came several days later. Install the batterys, it turns on itself, install to system with app, make sure everything works and camera starts recording and adjusts like it should, then go find a place to put it. I painted mine a camo brown, then put outside were no one would notice high up to get coverage of yard and house. It's been a week, still over 70% battery using 4 of them. This system, a bluetooth NVR with 1 TB drive and 4 cameras @4k resolution is really simple to use. The add on cameral, with batteries is idiot proof. If they were 4k, and used batteries like the one I have, it could be a kickass super simple setup to use and move around where ever you wanted.

Hello, we just bought your system! It wasn't on a whimp. My buddy ordered his and I love his! I mean clarity, sound, and just over all its a very nice set up. When I get mine installed, I will get back on here and post some pictures! Thank you for being there when I ask questions. Thats what it's really about.

Just bought this and installed last weekend. It is a very wide and crisp picture and the audio coming in is OK! One drawback, is that when you ring the bell, it sounds outside like it is going to die. Its rather annoying. All in all, it does OK but might be worth looking at a security camera if you are more rural as we are. It seems to keep registering human when none are about.
