Best AirCon ever!

This AirCon is amazing! It is extremely powerful, maybe a little too strong haha. I love the multiple settings and how you can schedule times for temperatures through the app. I would only suggest updating the app so its more user friendly. I believe this will last for years!

Love the features and appliance!

I love everything about this appliance! From the seek look to the features! I especially love that I can connect it to my phone and control it while away from home and also set a timer for it to automatically turn on and off at a certain time! It is very powerful and cools the area down quickly

A lot of AC for the money.

We purchased this AC from SAMs and got a great deal on it. It is everything it is advertised to be. The noise level is a little more than I would like it to be but still quite acceptable and the entire unit shuts down when it reaches the selected comfort level. This unit was easy to install has adequately taken the place of a larger 10,000 BTU AC. I couldn't ask for more for a home office application.

Stopped working after 3 weeks

I loved the sleek look of this ac and it worked wonderfully for 3 weeks. Suddenly the lights started blinking. I cleaned the filter, unplugged and checked the reset button but the unit would shut itself down 2 seconds after you hit power. I called GE and they said to return it to the seller because the unit was not worth them sending someone out to fix it.

Just so-so

It's really not stout enough to stand up to the brutal Florida heat in the summer. It never gets the room cooler than 68 degrees at night. Usually runs about 72 degrees during the day even though it is set to 64. A different brand A/C unit that I used to have in the same location (same btu rating) used to run much cooler. The smartphone app doesn't always work either. The app works about 50% of the time.

Nice air conditioner

I like this air conditioner and it has nice features, such as the eco mode and auto fan speed. I also like the remote control so that I don't have to leave my desk. My only complaint is that it is louder than I had hoped. I use it in a small office, so I need it to be as quiet as possible.

Nope, not happy...

This thing isn't the greatest in the world.... I've had several window units before because I have 3 computers in one room and they need to be kept cool... it does cool very well, HOWEVER... if it's on auto and it cuts off because it has "reached the temp" it's set to, a lot of times it will get very hot and it will not come back on... for instance, what made me write this review was that it says its "66" in the room, and it's not, and if I cut it off and wait like 3 seconds and cut it back on, it comes on and the temp will start running up, sometimes all the way to 80, then it will cut back on and cool the room to the 73 I have it set at... but then once it cuts off, it likely wont come back on because it thinks it "too cool to be needed..." and it's definitely not... and honestly, since installing this unit my electric bill has gone up... this is the only thing i have replaced and I've always had a window unit in this room, I just don't think it's as energy efficient as it claims to be.

Not what we expected

After reading so many great reviews, we decided to go with this air conditioner. Unfortunately it has been so bad that we are returning it. It is very sensitive therefore if you want the room to be cool, you cannot use the eco setting otherwise it shuts off before cooling the room to the set temperature. I don’t even want to know how bad our electric bill is going to be this month because we’ve had to leave it on manual high cool all the time.

Hello and thank you for reaching out about your air conditioner. We're sorry to hear the Eco mode is not working out for you. The Eco mode does allow a larger swing of temperature as it conserves energy by not running the fan when the compressor is off. We hope you will reach back out with any other questions or concerns. - John@GEA

Economical

Installed in a 248sq ft aluminum storage building insulated with R13 in Florida. The unit hardly runs! Most KW used in a day so far is 1.3. Since it's storage, we keep it at 78. Handy being able to use the App to cool it down when we expect to get something out of storage.

Don't purchase this unit. GE is no longer the GE

The unit fails to meet any kind of standard that GE once met. Check it's orgin for the answer. The internal thermostat fails to function properly. The phone app indicates that the air conditioner room temperature is at 68 degrees when the room was at 77 degrees. You will need to turn the temperature setting to 64 (the lowest setting) just to get the AC to start then my morning the room is hot again. I no longer support GE products.
