Best Price in Town
Had been comparison shopping on-line and found Sam's to have the best price in town. Easy to install and much quieter than the previous window a/c I had. I was warned ahead of time, since I ordered this on-line for pick up, that the box had been damaged. Upon arrival, I asked the associate if I could open the box to inspect the unit. He happily assisted me and was able to inspect the unit. There was a minor cosmetic damage and I asked him that if I took it home and it did not work, that I could return the unit. Without hesitation, he replied yes. Got it home, installed the unit and it is working fine.
Thanks so much for taking the time to reach out to us about your new air conditioner. While we're glad it is operating just fine and that you had a great experience with the representatives you spoke with at Sam's Club, we hate to hear that your air conditioner had some minor cosmetic damage and know how frustrating that can be. If you ever have any questions about your air conditioner's features or functionality, please know that we are always here to help. -Chris@GEA

Awesome little AC
We were afraid this wouldn’t quite be big enough to cool the 384 square foot open portion of our cabin, but it freezes us out. We are extremely pleased with this purchase.

AC works great except on eco mode
I bought this for my bedroom, I bought it for the convenience of being able to control it with an app. Everything works great except the eco mode, it doesn't go on when the room starts getting warmer like it should. It comes on a couple of times, but it doesn't stay on long enough to get a proper temperature reading before it shuts off again. Then I think because the temperature probe is attached to the evaporator in the front, it gets a faulty reading. So in my opinion, unless you have some kind of circulation of the air in the room. Like a ceiling fan for instance or something. That's my opinion because I had a ceiling fan in another room and as long as I kept the fan on, the unit worked as expected in eco mode. Just giving you a heads up.
Hello - Thanks so much for posting a review on your new A/C unit. It's nice to hear that overall you're pleased with it and enjoying the many features. But we do apologize that ECO mode isn't working properly. When this mode is turned on the fan will cycle on and off. This may cause a wider range in temperature and humidity. Your insight on improving the design of the sensor to achieve a more accurate reading is greatly appreciated. As we always work to improve our products we'll be sure to share your feedback with our engineering team. Thanks again! -Mikayla@GEA

Worth the buy!
I purchased this air conditioner to replace another I had that didn’t seem to get my room cold enough and boy was it worth it! I also love that there is an app that I can use to cool my room before I get home from work as well. Definitely worth the purchase.

Great A/C
This was purchased as a replacement for one that had quit working. I love being able to set the temperature especially since we live in an area of high heat and humidity. I mostly use the "Auto" fan setting which changes the fan speed according to need. The sleep feature is really nice.
Hey there, we couldn't be happier to know how well your new air conditioner is working out for you! We're sorry your last quit working, but we appreciate you taking time to leave us your feedback and we're wishing you the best! You make a great addition to our GE Appliances family and we're happy to have you. - Guy@GEA

Works Well, but Loud
I bought this AC to replace the one that accidentally fell from our second story bedroom. Although this one is works well to cool down our room and bath, the fan is VERY loud no matter what speed it is set on. Our previous AC spoiled me for quietness. I am sorry I didn’t spend the extra money to buy the same model we had before.

Loud and not good at cooling
I bought this to replace a 5000 BTU that I had in my room thinking it would cool faster and better being an 8000 BTU. Well I was mistaken. This thing runs almost constantly within about a 150 sq. ft room. It is very loud to the point I need to have the TV on high to hear it I am actually thinking about returning it and putting my old one back in. Too noisy and not efficient.
Hello Annafl. Thanks for your review. This is RICKatGEA. We are sorry to hear of the concerns. We appreciate you sharing this feedback. If your room air conditioner is not cooling properly, check the following:Installation Make sure the air conditioner is properly sized for the room. For more information, see: Air Conditioners Sizing Guidelines Check to make sure nothing is blocking the front of the air conditioner. When the unit is blocked by curtains, blinds, or furniture, the air flow is restricted and cooling performance will be affected. Ambient Temperature (Environment) Check outdoor temperatures. Operating a room air conditioner if the outdoor temp is 70F or below will limit the cooling capacity of the unit. See: Air Conditioners Not Cooling; Cold Outdoor Temperatures Check the indoor temperatures. If the room is 70 or below already, the thermostat cannot cycle the compressor on. Consider the temperature of the room when the air conditioner was first turned on. If the room was very hot it will take longer to cool the room. When heat is stored up in walls, furniture, rugs and draperies, it will take longer to cool the room down. Whenever possible, turn the air conditioner on before the room heats up. Ice on Coils/Clogged Filter If there is ice on the coils, then the outdoor temperature may be below 70 degrees. The best way to prevent ice on coils is to not run the unit if the outdoor temperature is below 70 degrees F. If the temperature is close to 70 or you are unsure of the temperature, you can turn the thermostat to a warmer setting, set the fan switch to the highest position. For more information, see Air Conditioners - How to Remove Ice on Coils. Make sure the air filter has been cleaned in the last 30 days. For more information, see Air Conditioners Cleaning the Filter. Filter removal and location varies depending on the individual model. Download a copy of the Owner's Manual. Setting/Operation Check the thermostat setting. The highest setting will provide maximum cooling. Cycling on and off too frequently means the unit may be oversized or the filter needs to be cleaned.

Meh...it was better than my broke AC
Easy install out of the box, although the foam pieces were torn/split/stuck together permanently with no way of separating them. But overall, easy install. Medium difficulty wifi/wireless setup, but what really grinds my gears is the sleep/auto-on/off only works via wifi. Theres no other way of setting the AC auto modes. Bad design on that part. Also wifi connectivity is intermittent at best so you can never come home to a cold room after a hard day's work...
