I watched a "Mystery at the Museum." They were telling the story of Henry Ford being eco friendly by taking scrap wood and creating Charcoal briskets. My mind put them together with the oldest and best charcoal. And my hunch was correct. Thanks for being the best and the oldest Charcoal.

I always used Kingsford Original Charcoal since I began grilling, going on 40 yrs. now. Never had a problem and if I did it was something I messed up. I have had friends bring over charcoal at different times that wasn't Kingsford, and it was always less than quality results using it. Kingsford is the best.

we almost always cook out and don't want to wait and relight over and over the charcoal,so we bought the original KingsFord charcoal and it didn't take long at all.within 10 to 15 min. the charcoal was ready to cook our meal.We only had to pour little fuel on it and soon after we were ready.I love and would definatly recommend this brand to everyone that just can't wait long periods of time.

We are huge grillers - dh will grill every weekend, sun, rain, or snow!! We have used store brands before, but always come back to Kingsford. The extra you may pay (part of the time it's the same price) is worth the fact that it lasts as long as we need it to last.

I have tried at least ten other brands to include best choice, backyard, royal oak, etc. Kingsford always burns three times as long in my grill and smoker. Other brands will burn out in two hours in my smoker where kingsford original lasts around 4 to five hours. Takes a little longer to be ready but all good things come with a wait :)

I've been reading the reviews of the Kingsford "blue" and the competition briquettes. It seems that most, if not all, the folks have had prior experience with Kingsford going back several years/decades, as well as with other brands of charcoal. I haven't used charcoal since 1978. I'm just getting back into charcoal grilling and barbecuing with a newly-purchased Weber kettle. So, I have no point of reference, save for my experience getting back into charcoal. I followed the instructions for using my chimney starter. I'm learning, slowly, how to moderate the cooking temp by opening/closing the grill vents, AS WELL AS adjusting the amount of charcoal. The only problem I'm finding with the product is the amount of ash. I'm told that it's normal for briquettes. I tried another brand of lump charcoal in a dry run; but I haven't cooked with it yet. It burns hotter and faster than the briquettes. I'm establishing my baseline with Kingsford blue. I'm adjusting the grill vents, cooking times and amount of charcoal based on my current experience, without the benefit of having used the product in the past. So far, I did one rack of ribs and one beef brisket. Both were tasty, with no off taste. BUT, both came out on the dry side, due no doubt to my struggle to maintain a low and slow cooking temp. I gave Kingsford blue a 3-star rating only because I'm just starting out. It's a brand I recognize and trust. As I gain more experience I'll venture out to try different brands. But for now, Kingsford blue is it for me. If it ain't broke, I ain't fixin' it.

I have tried a couple of other brands but nothing holds heat and for as long as Kingsford. It is the main thing I look for when the season starts. I pick up as many double bags as I can fit in our garage during the sale season!! We barbeque in our home year round!

I live in Illinois and I never put my Weber away! I grill all year long. As a matter of fact, last weekend on 15 degree temps with snow I did a brisket low and slow using the "snake method". It was fabulous! I started the grill set up @ 7:30 a.m. Brrrrrrr! It was done at about 6 p.m. Happy Day! Dinner was fantastic! Long story short, I purchased 10 twenty pound bags of Kingsford Original in September 2014 and am on my second to last bag as of today. That's a lot of winter grilling. Kingsford never fails me, it is always consistent, always lights easily with my chimney and performs to perfection with even temperature and heating each and every time. Happy to see spring is close! I think the original is still the best thing kingsford has going right now. Still don't understand how it is they can SHRINK the charcoal, SHRINK the size of the bag, Charge even more for it and expect us to be thrilled about it? The Mesquite and the Hickory are also okay but I would stay away from the one they call "Competition".... NOT GOOD!

I’ve been using your product since I was a teen. Everything was fine up until a couple of years ago when I noticed the coals didn’t appear to be as hot as they used to be. I thought it was my Weber grill so I cleaned it and the same problem. Then I started to read reviews of people with the same observations. My problems used to be how to keep the heat down, now I can’t even sear a steak.
