The Best

I've been using a lot of other products. Both lump and briquet charcoal. This is the best one I've used so far and will stay with Kingsford from now on. Even distribution of heat on briquets. longest lasting of any others and hottest. Love this product.

I have used your product for many years but have noticed in the past 2 years it is not the same! To get it up to cooking temperature I have to take my lawn blower to it. And then it does not last very long. In the mean time I bought another brand that burns just like the old Kingsford. You must have changed the formulation to maintain margin.

Thanks for your feedback, Jim. We're sorry to hear our Original Charcoal Briquets didn't heat up as expected and burned too fast. That sounds frustrating and unexpected. We wanted to be sure you know that Kingsford Original charcoal briquets are now ready to cook about 15 minutes after lighting them up. This is about 25 percent faster than other charcoal available today. The briquets burn as long and hot as our previous charcoal, but you’ll need to put the food on the grill earlier to take advantage of Kingsford’s extended cooking time. We'd love to hear more about your experience. Please give us a call at 800-537-2823 and provide reference number 210824-000300. We look forward to speaking with you.

Curious I am

The argument can be made that everything on Earth is "natural". So I would like to know what the ingredients are in your Original Charcoal that is not wood? I cook with this stuff and have enjoyed it immensely. That being said, it is in my food and I believe we should be informed as to what we are eating. Thank you

not my beloved blue bag

Been defending Kingsford as the preferred BBQ fuel over Wood Pellets and Wood for years, but my recent purchases do not reflect the product I grew to love. It's taking longer to start, isn't burning as hot and generates a lot of ash. It's fine for typical backyard cookouts, but if you are more adventuresome (ribs, steaks, slow cooking) the current product is not what I remember. Where in the past I used to be able to get Blue Bag close to 600 degrees to sear meat, it's now closer to 450. The ash generated is enough to choke out other coals. I'm using Blue Bag in both the traditional Weber Kettle and a championship grade smoker. I haven't measured the time to start, but it sure seems like it's taking a lot longer to get the red coals needed to really do the job right. I've refused to go the wood route, but it's something I'm going to need to ponder. It's not worth having a championship smoker if the fuel doesn't get the job done.

When the storms of April 27th, ravaged Alabama , my Disaster Relief team at my church went into action, we began feeding people hot meals everyday, we used an outrageous amount of Kingsford Charcoal and starter fluid, we would not use any other kind, we still only use and will continue to use Kingsford it is the BEST, thank you so much....

The King of Charcoal

We've been using Kingsford Charcoal for as long as i can remember and its consistent and never disappoints. Lights evenly and is reliable; we use this for year round grilling here in the Windy City! I stock up on this every single year and have always been a faithful customer. Thanks for providing a great product.

Charcoal is way to thin!

I love Kingsford charcoal but am dissatisfied with the new thin stile briquets. They may burn longer but if they fall through the grates before they are ash, they are just waisted. I used to be able to use the remaining charcoal after a grilling a second time but now when I heap the coals together to light them up a good number of them fall through the grate. They are lost and waisted because they are so thin and won't stay on the grate!

The Demise of Kingsford

Up until recently, as a professional chef for over 30 years, I have been a huge consumer and promoter of Kingsford. However they have apparently made a change to their product that renders it useless for smoking or grilling. This charcoal now fires up and burns out without generating enough heat to put a sear on a steak or even a piece of fish. It burns out so quickly that you are unable to cook chicken or pork without having to add additional coals. It is no longer feasible to use in my smoker because of it's short burn life.Very dissappointing for a brand that set the bar for grilling professionals. I would recommend using natural chunk charcoal and avoid this product until they revert back to their old recipe.

Wow, what a fathers day!

Wow, what a Father’s day today was, my family simply loved the how the dinner turned out using Kingsford Charcoal for the first time. Having just purchased my first charcoal grill, I opted for Kingsford’s Charcoal and can’t tell you how extremely happy I am and how easy and simply it is to use with outstanding results. I mixed half regular charcoal with half mesquite charcoal for a great flavor and flawless cooking results. Thank you Kingsford!!!
