i grew up watching my dad grilling with the old style coals and he loved it. but if you could have heard the word that came out of his mouth when yall changed to the new coals he hated the new coals and so do i. would love to see the old style coals come back the new ones are much smaller and takes more coals to preform the same amount of grilling witch cost us more $$$

Like many I try to cut costs where I can, this is NOT one of them. This is the only charcoal we buy and are extremely pleased with it. They frequently have coupons which is great. We have a propane start grill and have had no issues. I highly recommend this product. Live in the Chicagoland area and grill year round.

I've been a Kingsford user for well over 40 years and like others have become dissatisfied with the product (cost, bag size, etc.). The charcoal is hard to get started but once it does it burns too fast for my meat to cook. And it leaves a chemical taste. No, I don't immediately place my meat on the grill I wait at least 25 minutes for the lighter fluid fumes to dissipate. Will have to look for a replacement product.

If you're looking for the best flavor, then use Kingsford. This brand has been around since I was a child and my parents BBQ'd. I now use it for BBQ's with my family. We look forward to every summer season so we can whip out the grill and use our Kingsford Bricks to char delicious meals.

i have recently chaged my cooking style and charcoal to adapt to my new venture.being a comp bbq cook and being being dedicated to lump(royal oak),converting to grills and sml. smoker as to the bigboy.Kingsford allows me the very best in maintainng temp. i can actually tell you how many coals for extended periods ect. It allows me to really dial in my temp.perfect..Although it does not burn as hot as lump,I am now comitted to Kingsford,also went with a Kingsford grill(dual zone) and lovin it....................bbqdave..

I have been using Kingsford original for many years. Several times I have tried other brands only to go back to Kingsford. Recently I was smoking a pork butt for my neighbor and asked him to get some charcoal. He brought me some off brand and I politely told him that I didn't need it after all and promptly went to the store myself and bought 2 bags of Kingsford to do the job. The only downfall that I can find with the product is that I wish you would bring back the larger, longer lasting brickettes of yester year.

I do bar-b-que: pigs (at least 300 lbs), pork roasts for pulling and I would never use any other charcoal than "The Original Kingsford". I find that it burns longer and more even. Very little waste. When I do a beef briscuit, it takes a slow and long cooking time and with Kingsford original I do not use that many bags, maybe one and a half another of the 20 lb. bags. The flavor certainly comes out very tasty (use cherry wood along with the charcoal). Good stuff.

Only Charcoal my family uses. Long Lasting and great flavor!!! We are able to make an entire feast with little charcoal. This is the brand that we will ever use. We have tried the generic store brands, but they are hard to light and last half of the time and end up being a waste of money. Kingsford Original is the absolute best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I WON'T BUY ANY OTHER BRAND OF CHARCOAL, BECAUSE YOUR PRODUCT IS THE BEST ON THE MARKET. IT LIGHTS EASY, BURNS EVEN & IS READY VERY QUICKLY. YOUR LIGHTER FLUID IS GREAT ALSO. THE OTHER BRANDS IT SEEMS LIKE IT TAKES THE WHOLE BOTTLE JUST TO GET THE CHARCOAL GOING, BUT WITH YOURS IT JUST TAKES A LITTLE. IF I'M GRILLING SOMEWHERE BESIDES HOME & SOMETIMES AT HOME, I GRAB THE MATCHLIGHT SO I DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT DRAGGING THE FLUIID ALONG. PEOPLE ARE CRAZY IF THEY BUY ANYTHING ELSE!!!

I have to admit, I have bought discount charcoals in the past. I didn't think there was a difference in quality. I was wrong. The Kingsford lights so much easier, and heats faster with less fluid than cheaper brands. It makes grilling out so much easier and faster! The only brand I will buy now is Kingsford!
