Often times I meet with friends who try to use knock-off brand of briquets to cook with and are faced with disastrous and humorous results. I started useing a charcoal grill about 4 years ago after our family started camping and my youngest son said that the food tasted better over charcoal then gas. I use my smoker with my charcoal on weekends . We've also used mesquite but I prefer the original briquets.

i have recently chaged my cooking style and charcoal to adapt to my new venture.being a comp bbq cook and being being dedicated to lump(royal oak),converting to grills and sml. smoker as to the bigboy.Kingsford allows me the very best in maintainng temp. i can actually tell you how many coals for extended periods ect. I've been "real" grilling (with charcoal, not gas) forever. I'm 70 and have gone through many grills but never a change to my charcoal. None are better, none give us the true grill flavor we all want. And long lasting? Heck yes if you know how to conserve the used coals for the next meal treat. Kingsford is the best! The others aren't even close.

GREAT taste and flavor. Sure beats electric or gas grills. Does it take a little longer to cook. Yes but doesn't doing anything right take just a little bit longer. But it always makes a difference. Use gas for conveinice but use charcoal if you want flavor.

I have tried other brands over the years, and finally came to the conclusion that for me there is nothing better than Kingsford for my smoking and barbecue! A dependable product that burns evenly every single time with no char taste. Keep up the good work Kingsford!

Been grilling for 30 plus years, used to buy your product with out question, as it was the best. Not any more. The briquettes light about the same, but burn out way to fast. I know the reason for this is to make the consumer use and buy more charcoal. I have been using lump charcoal from Smart & Final and it works great. More heart and a much longer burn time. Maybe if others follow suit Kingsford will put quality back into their brand instead of just money in their pockets.

Burns reliable and steady. From smoking Boston Butts, Briskets, Ribs, Loins, and Chicken. Also, Turkey, Lamb, and Salmon. To grilling out Hamburgers, Steaks, and Swordfish. This charcoal keeps the heat consistent. I didn't get a reliable heat when using the hickory wood chips. They seem to give off less heat when smoking.

Been grilling year round in all sorts of weather here in San Antonio Texas - will walk by any other brands at any other price and always grab the Kingsford. I use a chimney to get the coals going and have never once had issues with the burn. I prefer to add hickory,mesquite or whatever flavoring separate from the coal so I prefer the "original". It's a great product, I've been grilling for decades with it!! This is the real deal.I would recommend this to a friend and family members!
