We are Looong time users of KIngsford Charcoal. This season we bought a 2x20 lb package as we usually do. We do a lot of dutch oven cooking and the number of coals you use is important. We find the new coals don't last as long, so they are messing up our recipes. We found an older bag in our camper, and compared. The old briquet was at least 1/3 larger than the new ones. We have also found they don't last as long in our kettle cooker. Please go to the old tried and true.back

I have just opened my second bag of Kingsford Original charcoal in six weeks that is so dusty it almost unusable. This is not what I have come to expect from Kingsford. This has been my go to for many years but that will change if I keep opening product that looks like this.

This is consistent charcoal. I use it in my weber with good results every time. Not crushed to death and a decent deal for 2 bags. If I'm out of coals, will grab this at Sams. Sometimes I use other brands but this just reminds me of family cookouts. The smell is nice and clean with just right smoke. Put 3 cotton balls soaked with 91% Isopropyl alcohol on bottom of a chimney under coals and light. You won't even need lighter fluid.

I have tried at least ten other brands to include best choice, backyard, royal oak, etc. Kingsford always burns three times as long in my grill and smoker. Other brands will burn out in two hours in my smoker where kingsford original lasts around 4 to five hours. Takes a little longer to be ready but all good things come with a wait :)

This has got to be the brain storm of a bunch of engineers and scientists. Your product was fine like it was. I have to recaulate my whole smoking routine because i can not depend on a good long lasting high heat fire from your product. This is why i have used Kinsgsford since i started grillingv over 35 years ago. Bottom line your new product burns to fast. I have to use twice charcoal. I am Stoking the fire three to four times more. I now have to mix your briquets with Royal Oak to get a more stable fire.

Have tried many other types of charcoal, and half of them never ignite, or they burn unevenly. Kingsford is the only one I use, and even on hot humid Chicago days, it starts right up without having to put a ton of lighter fluid, turns nice and ashy evenly

Your product left all the food I grilled tasting like burning rubber ! What have you done ? If you have 3 shifts working, then you need quality countrol on all 3 shifts ! I will never count on the Kingsford brand again, and the remainder of the charcoal in the bag will be thrown out with the rest of the trash. You ruined my food , and also I suspect your product is resposible for the headacke I'm experiencing at this very moment !

I find that kingsford is the best for any grilling. The charcoal lights fastest and burns longer. My husband bought another brand and I decided to try it, but after a while of having to relight the charcoal I threw it out and went back to store and bought kingsford. We will never use another brand again.

After using Kingsford for years, I was extremely disappointed when I bough my first bag last week for a family cookout. First- it took forever for the charcoal to stay burning and get hot. After it did get hot, it did not last long enough for us to finish cooking everything. What a bummer. I guess I will be looking for a new brand.

we bought a new bag of Kingsford Match Light a week before Thanksgiving. We have a tradition of grilling our turkey, and have been using Kingsford for almost three decades. This year, however, it did not turn out well. I set up the grill, a Weber Kettle, as usual, put in the charcoal, AND IT WOULD NOT LIGHT. I finally had to resort to a sizeable dose of charcoal lighter fluid to start the coals, and even then, the coals did not get hot enough to adequately cook the turkey. I finally had to resort to finishing it on our gas grill, and still ended up with a delayed dinner. I don't know what happened to Kingsford, but will be looking for another alternative in the future.
