Getting better

I haven’t Purchased a new room but in quite a number of years, so I’m still trying to figure this one out. The cleaning ability is really good, but it’s taking a really long time to mount the house and she keeps falling off a little ledge….She’s supposed to be able to get back up when she falls off the ledge but she hasn’t learned that obviously

No more Sharks

We bought two different "Sharks" and returned them. Bought this and will definitely keep. We owned Gen 1 Roomba and the programming has gotten much better I watched it get out from under the kitchen table with glee. They keep getting better! Very happy with this, we have 4 dogs and it has been running daily since we got it, moves from hardwood to two types of carpet and around a myriad of obstacles, when my Gen 1 dies (although replace battery and still going strong but not as effective) I will get this or the next version. No more Sharks for us

Roomba is pretty smart but has a way to go

We have two stories of around 1800 sq ft on each level. So far we have one floor mapped fairly well and all the rooms have been divided and named. We have the Roomba app downloaded on two Iphones and an ipad. In addition we have Alexia and Siri tied to the app. When it cleans everywhere there seems to be no problem. However it does have some difficulty cleaning by room only. I'm not sure how to fix that problem and have not found any directions to do so. As far as its cleaning ability, I would say that it does a decent job and I'm satisfied with its performance. It does pick up cat hair, which is one of the primary reasons we bought it. I installed a wifi extender near the base station and that helped tremendously in keeping the Roomba on track when it came home. Sam's had an excellent price on the product so I took the chance and bought it. So far we are satisfied with the purchase.

Not ok

I have bought and have several iRobots including this one from a previous time. But not sure what happened this one did not work. It wouldn’t find its base it would get stuck a lot and through out so many error codes. I sent back and got a replacement. The new one is still not the greatest but it does a semi decent job now

This is awesome!

I got my first one for Christmas, and have actually purchased two more since then. I have two for my home and one for my office. I have it running throughout my house and office every night. I love that I can direct it to go to a specific room if I need it to, and that it can go from carpet to tile without any problems. The only drawback is that it is very loud when it empties out into the base, so don't leave the base anywhere close to your bedroom if you have it running at night.

Just Okay...

This is just ok. I would recommend if you have a small area, small floor plan and no furniture. It hugs the walls, continuously hits the chairs, like they’ve done something to it; has marred the new frig along the bottom... The total run time is very long, because it has to charge after about 90minutes and then charging takes about 90 minutes; honestly I typically end up canceling it because I get tired of it hitting stuff, the noise and just how long it takes to finish the job. No mapping for room by room, so it just goes about it’s business. The dirt disposal is nice, but very loud; you could not run at night. If you’re cleaning up dog hair etc, you will have to clear the rollers and the little sweeper thing periodically and clean out the filter; it gives you videos to show you how to complete if your unsure. So it’s not completely, completely hands off. I run this on the first floor, it has mainly hardwood, some tile and a couple rugs; semi open floor plan; and about 2200 sq ft. It will clean well, if you have patience for the long cycle. It connects easily to google home and the app allows you to start it when you’re not home or see how longs it’s been running. I wouldn’t purchase this again if ever need to replace or wanted to get one for upstairs...

Makes life easier

Working great having one problem and it is my fault , have had pine chips carried in house wiyh wet weather, from dog houses, and causes a clog from time to time i sweep home at 3 times a week and still haven't had to put in a new bag in tower yet it's cleaning over 1000 sq ft each time love being able to do a specific room or area without doing whole house

Daily tidy up dog hair

It occasionally gets stuck under certain chairs or seems lost under a table with a few chairs along one side. It does pick up some of the hair our dog shed as a measure to tidy up. Still have to use the vacuum cleaner. Rarely gets stuck on the transition from hardwood floors and area rugs.

Should have bought one years ago!

We have 8 cats, a dog, 2 chinchillas and a family of 6. The hardwood floors always have dust, dirt, hay, and pet fur on them as we don't have time to vacuum every day. We tried a cheaper robotic vacuum a couple years ago. It wasn't perfect, but it helped enough that we decided to upgrade to the more expensive Roomba. Boy are we glad we did! It's so much quieter than the other brand that we don't stop the cleaning cycle when we have guests over, need to use the phone, or are watching TV. It's shorter so it can fit under our Chinchilla cage and wooden kitchen chairs. The navigation is amazing too! The old robot would get stuck under a rocking chair. This Roomba not only gets in and out from under the chair, but also found it could navigate behind the could to clear that 18" wide, 5' long strip. Old vacuumed cleaned for about 45 minutes before returning to charge/end the cycle, and needed to be manually emptied. The roomba empties on it's own and will stop to recharge before resuming to cover an office, living room, dining room/kitchen, pantry/hallway, and a second hallway to a bedroom. Unlike the other vacuum we haven't had to go "rescue" it when it couldn't find the base or got stuck somewhere other than a couple times it got tangled up with a cord. We're continually amazed at the difference between the two, and how much better the Roomba is.

Worth it!

We named our roomba Sonya. Sonya has been great! We have our dog-neohew come over on the weekends and it's extremely helpful to tap on my phone and watch Sonya do all the work. I do suggest you "map" your home before you let her loose so she can navigate exactly where shes supposed to go intead of finding her bumping into things. The self-cleaning feature is so convenient but please be responsible enough to read the entire guide so that you can make sure to keep your help maintained. Otherwise, it would be just a waste of money. I gave Sonya a 5 star rating because so far, she's a hard worker and efficient.
