Don't buy

Couple weeks after purchasing this item the side edge brush stopped working, the mapping system doesn't work properly. When ordered to clean an specific room it will go everywhere and miss a lot of spots, plus it has a hard time finding the base.

I absolutely love this Roomba!

It picks up all of the pet hair left by my dogs and crumbs left by my toddler. My floors are always clean! It even cleaned my carpeted areas wonderfully! I also love that this model empties itself! Wonderful product! Definitely recommend!

I have bought 4 and pass them to my children

My floor stays clean of pet hair and allows me to rest after work. I recommend the self emptying. Awesome, never liked remembering to empty. CON: Don't like cleaning the hair out of the brushes, but I had to that as well with my stand up

I like the precise orderly way it cleans a room rather than binging around the room like my others. My only negative would be that the self cleaning vacuum is loud.

Cleans up pet hair very well

Cleans up pet hair very well, the vacuum can handle up and down on area rugs no problem. The app works well in and out of the home. We like the self cleaning feature into the bag. The vacuum does not miss any areas.

But I can assure you that it was one of the simplest things I ever had to do. Once you download the app and plug in the home base. All you have to do is push a button and let your robot do the rest. That easy and that simple!

I can't use the product Because it won't start right out of the box. I tried troubleshooting to no avail and I'll be returning it. Really sucks. Never even turned on

Disappointed on Carpets

We bought this to compliment a competitive brand that we moved downstairs after finishing our basement. Setup on the product was easy as expected and with the first use of the product I noticed right away how well it did on hard surfaces. However I am very disappointed about how poorly it picks up per hair on carpeted areas. It hardly seems to pick up any of the dog hair where there's carpet. Not very happy and I don't think I could recommend this product to anyone with pets.

Hello Dave, what you may be seeing could be what we call 'floor conditioning', which may happen during the initial few runs of your Roomba! Your Roomba is just trying to get your floor to a base level of clean that it can then maintain, so we would suggest running it for a few days in a row to allow it to get to that point! If you find you're having trouble with it, however, or you find that you need further assistance, please feel free to speak with our customer care team via 1-877-855-8593! -Sincerely, iRobot Customer Care

Do not waste your money!

The vacuum does not clean in neat rows as advertised. It frequently cleans half of a room moves onto another and does not come back to finish the room. Many areas of my home get missed. Also when it goes back to recharge it does not go back to the area it left off when it's done. It ends up just cleaning the same area again. It constantly gets stuck on the track for my sliding glass doors. I'm talking 12 times per clean stuck. Customer service was no help other than buying the keep away stick after already spending $400 on the vacuum. Make sure you keep the box or you cannot return. I'm stuck with a vacuum that I hate! Please do not waste your money.

Unboxing: The first thing I noticed while I unboxed the robo

Unboxing: The first thing I noticed while I unboxed the robot was how plain the exterior box is. Is iRobot emulating Apple packaging? The cutouts on either side made it easy to pick up without fear of dropping it. Inside the box, each item was packaged securely and marked with symbols that made identifying the contents intuitive. The inside flap of the box has cutouts for easy opening, while the vacuum box has a plastic handle for removal. iRobot's package design engineer did a pretty good job, but there's still room for improvement. The box for each component was plain cardboard with no coatings, which allowed it to be quickly identifiable as recyclable. iRobot needs to go further, by finding alternative materials for the foam padding attached to the lid of the outer box. The plastic handle on the vacuum box also warrants another look at the possibility of using durable, environmentally friendly materials. Overall, the iRobot was packaged securely, easy to unpack, and consisted of mostly biodegradable materials. Meeting the robot: The first thing I noticed about the robot was its updated color. I've owned Roombas in the past and as I'm not a fan of red, was always unhappy with the color. This newest version is a pleasantly neutral combination of black, dark grey, and light grey. The light grey ring on the top surface is nicely textured, which gives it a more upscale look. It reminds me of a grey Google Mini speaker, which if done intentionally, is a clever way to indicate its compatibility. This is one of very few household appliances that I don't mind being displayed. The brushes underneath are a cheery shade if chartreuse. That's always been one of my favorite colors, in moderation, so that's another plus, in my opinion. The only thing I'd add to this robot is a recessed carrying handle. It's rather awkward to carry from place to place. It brings me back to the days I used to rescue snapping turtles crossing the road in front of my house by picking them up and ferrying them to safety. Awkward, like carrying this Roomba. Out of the box there's not.much to do, other than installing the edge-sweeping brush and installing the disposal bag in the charging base. I did have to double check to make sure that no pieces were missing. Having been an owner of a couple of older models, I thought I was missing and edge-cleaning brush. The versions I owned had two. This model has only one. Where the other sweeping brush used to be is the opening through which the dust bin is emptied. Connecting the robot: I had to charge it before it was ready to be used. Setup was relatively easy. I downloaded the app and connected it to my home's wifi. The app discovered the robot almost immediately. Connecting was easy as well. I experimented with connecting it to different wifi sources. I tried using my phone's hotspot. That didn't work since my phone had to be connected to the same wifi that I connected the robot to. My hotspot didn't show up in the list of available wifi connections. I then tried connecting it to a Sprint mobile hotspot that supports up to ten devices. After numerous tries, it eventually connected. I was able to use the robot several times before the connection was lost. I was unable to reconnect after that. The most reliable connection, of course, was through my cable internet wifi. Cleaning: I have a variety of different floor surfaces in my home. I have, hardwood, tile, linoleum, carpet, and area rugs. (REVIEW IS CONT'D BELOW)
